Welcome to Airport City and to the most popular fan forum for the game. Hopefully, this post will help with some of the most common questions.
There are two guides areas on this forum. Most of the posts in these guides are linked on this page, but there is more information available in the guides areas.
General guides - https://www.airportcitygame.com/forums/airport-city-guides.19/
Capt WH Rollins Guides - https://www.airportcitygame.com/forums/capt-wh-rollins-guides.65/
Q. Is the Airport City Forum run by the owners of the game?
No. The forum and the game are not connected other than forum members play the game. There are some people from the company that come into the forum occasionally to post updates or look at...
EDIT: I update this list when other players suggest corrections or provide tips. If you find an error please post below so I can fix it. Thanks.
I'm a relative new player so some of you veteran fliers will will want to make corrections to this list. I'm listing what I have learned though trial and error. Second - I'm a mid to high maintenance player so if you only access the game say once daily to do maintenance ( a low maintenance player), this guide will have some tips that will not help you.
This guide is for the person who is strapped for real money. Now I'm not saying one should not support the developers who make this game - YOU SHOULD! They do a great job and should be rewarded for their work. What this guide is for is when you...
Anyone else struggling to download latest update. New update this morning but obviously corrupted.
Can’t log in and unsure what to do next?
Thanks in advance Helen
Did you ever wish there was an auto-collect feature in the game? Well there is.
It comes through three buildings:
Visa Center to collect passengers https://www.airportcitygame.com/wiki/visa_center/
Bank Branch to collect coins https://www.airportcitygame.com/wiki/bank_branch/
Pawn Shop to collect collectibles https://www.airportcitygame.com/wiki/pawn_shop/
This guide will use Visa Center and passengers as an example because it's the most common building that people purchase. Also, while you may want to collect coins in the early stages of the game, you will relatively quickly get to a point where you don't need them. But you will never not need passengers.
Pro tip: Don't waste greenies on Bank Branches or Pawn Shops. Save them for...
Liveries are paint jobs that can be applied to the planes you purchase. Some liveries can be purchased through the shop in the Operative Hangar while others are only available during events. Some can be earned by flying to special destinations.
Liveries can be simply esthetic with no benefit like the Rock Livery
Some liveries can boost the speed of your planes like the S2 Livery
Some increase profits from flights for the plane it's applied to like the Volcanic Plane
Some increase drop rate from destinations like the Tectonic Plane
And still others are required to fly to special destinations like the Air Lab Livery
Not all liveries can be applied to all planes. For example, the air lab livery above can only be applied to an...
What is trail.gg?
trail.gg is a website to link your progress to game insight's windows server.
What is a White Whale?
The White Whale is a floating blimp that produces 2 fuel every 5 minutes, can be speeded up by watching an ad or with 2 Airport cash
Steps to link your account :
1. Register on the trail.gg website (Preferably with same details as your main account such as Email, Username, etc)
2. Login and click on airport city, wait for game to load (NOTE : Do not switch tabs when the game loads, otherwise it will take a very long time to load and may even show error)
3. Once game is loaded, go to your IOS game and copy the GI link code from link progress under settings option. once noting down the code, close the main game app...
I wanted to see how many consecutive days of max visiting neighbors are required to max out reputation level.
I found a chart for rep leveling points in the guide (assume it is correct) and added #days to get it.
It appears 210 days or 7 months.
Someone was considering a FR with 30 gifsts. I guess that means each support must be min 7 months old.
I used [(#days x #posible visits)+ #pts left after leveling - #points needed to level] for calculation...
Starting recently, G! has released a bonus link every weekend that contains certain prizes (see chart at bottom).
The bonus link is posted on Airport City's Facebook and Discord every Friday and is valid until Sunday. This means you must earn your reward from this link sometime between Friday (when the link is posted) and Sunday (when the link expires).
The bonus link will look something like this when posted on Discord:
The bonus link will look something like this when posted on Facebook:
NOTE: Above, I have taken screenshots of past weekend bonus links. These links are expired now and are not valid.
The link will be posted on the forum soon after Facebook and Discord.

The title of the this thread is the lesson/guide in its entirety. There is no need to read any further other than to access just a fraction of the evidence of why it is true.
I struggled to decide where to place this thread but finally decided that it would be most beneficial to any new players starting the game. Anyone playing long term will already know that any similarity to flying in the real world is purely coincidental and visual trickery to entice you into playing long enough to get hooked on the game 😀.
This post should also help by eliminating any future need to post complaints that any “new features introduced via updates are unrealistic”. Any hope of realism is purely wishful thinking and any change that resembles reality...
This comes up a lot on this forum. People suspect others of cheating because they flew a lot of passengers very quickly, because they got a lot of event currency very quickly, because they have lots of unfilled space, because they flew lots of passengers without lots of passenger buildings, because they seem to have fewer resources than you but are doing better.
If you are relatively new to the game, some things that are quite common for seasoned players at a higher level may seem extravagant to you - maybe even like cheating. But you probably can't tell when people are cheating. You simply haven't explored enough of what is possible in the game to tell the difference between cheating and experience.
The very easy answer is that it is...
To save you all a lot of reading, I will give you the answer right here - the most cost effective electricity for your city is Tesla Power Plants! By a lot!!!!!
But if you want to see the calculations, this post will go through the math and strategies. All of these buildings can be found in this section of the wiki https://www.airportcitygame.com/wiki/industries/
At the early stages of the game, you will buy energy with coins because that's what you have. The options are Power Plant, Wind Turbine, Solar Panel and Coal Station. You can find information on these buildings here https://www.airportcitygame.com/wiki/industries/

Having played before to the point I had a robust city, and starting over with knowledge of the game, I thought it would be useful to provide a guide for new players to help build up a robust city quickly. But the first thing to note is that the more hours you play in a day, the faster you will earn coins. It's that simple.
In this game, you will need lots of coins ... lots. These can be hard to come by just sending out flights. And unless you're a billionaire in real life, this is one item that is not worth purchasing in the bank. You will hear lots of advice to launch rockets, but that is only a fraction of what you can earn from other things.
So here are my recommendations for the fastest way (for newer players) to accumulate coins...
As you progress your game, you will want to increase the population of your city so you can add more buildings to earn more income and fly more planes. One way to do that is to upgrade your town hall. But it's not always the best way to increase the population of your city.
At the top left of your screen, you will see a counter that looks like this. In the image below, the city has a maximum population of 821, but currently only has buildings that add up to 649 population. So there is room to add more buildings.
When you look at buildings in the store, there is information on the right side - both for residential and commercial buildings.
The eatery, has this information
Building the eatery in this city above would increase the...
You've probably heard that it's tedious to fly helicopters and it's not very profitable. Yes it is tedious, but it can be very profitable. I wouldn't recommend this for very newer players. The infrastructure requirement to fly helicopters is vast. If you are looking for ways as a very new player to gather coins, check out this post.
Thanks @Marve for the additional detail. At some point, I will put the full table of destinations, item combinations and cost/profitability on the forum
Why is it tedious?
They don't use regular passengers in your terminal. Tourists for helicopter flights only come from Guest House, Country Manor, Stone Cottage and Travel Bureau.
They require separate infrastructure - Terminal H to hold tourists...
Don't rush to upgrade your fleet. There are many buildings you should have in place before you can support the next type of plane. Of course the runway needs to be long enough, but there are other buildings and items you should have as well. And if you are asking about the expense of some of the higher end planes, you probably are not at a point in the game where you can afford them.
Is your runway, operative hangar and repair base at a high enough level to service the new aircraft?
Do you have the buildings required to produce the items needed for the flights (e.g. flight catering facility, laundry, etc)?
Do you have repair items for the aircraft? You can find a list of repair items for each aircraft here...
I've been asked many times which bonus to use to improve the chances of a drop. Here's my opinion on the matter:
Spy Glass
"This bonus increases the chance of quest item drop (both common and collectible) by 150% for 6 hours."
Quests are the icons that occasionally appear on the left side of the screen. Sometimes they are main quests, like the recent "The Great Game" and "Santa's Bad Day" quests. At times, there are subquests that appear that walk you step by step through the main quest. Using a Spy Glass bonus increases the chance of drops from flights that are part of these quests.
Dice
"This bonus doubles the chance of item drop from a flight (excluding quest and collectible items) for 6 hours."
If you fly to an Excavations...

Reputation is an important part of Airport City. It determines how many neighbors you can visit and how many gifts you can send. But Reputation doesn't increase on its own. It can only be increased by visiting neighbors and "helping" them. This means tapping on buildings or entities in their city.
By tapping on buildings in your neighbors' cities, you can earn extra coins, passengers, fuel and items for collections. During events, there is often items around the city called entities. By tapping these, you often earn items that will help you complete the event. Think about what you might need to collect before starting to visit neighbors every day.
You can find your reputation level a few ways
Tap the Wings/Level icon in the top...
Hi Newbies, The Riding the Comet event is run sometimes twice a year and is generally a pretty easy event to complete IF you are prepared.
So what do you need to do to prepare?
Build a Mission Control Center (5000 coins). It requires building items to complete so you want to get started on it quickly. You can get through videos for all items in a day, or plan to exchange gifts with neighbors. The construction time is only 2 hours https://www.airportcitygame.com/wiki/mission_control_center_level_1/.
Build a Launch Pad Level 1. This costs 2000 coins and takes 2 hours to build. There are no items required to complete the launch pad. https://www.airportcitygame.com/wiki/launch_pad_1/
Start visiting neighbors and flying to get the launch...

Last nightI whiled away a sleepless hour or so trying to evaluate which properties deliver the optimum number of passengers. Of course optimum will be different for each of us as we play the game in different ways and our choices may be limited by Land or Electricity supply. I am a regular player - I play pretty much every hour and dont sleep well so quite a lot in the night as well. Also I keep the game open in a second screen all the time I am at my computer. From the information in the store I measured properties by pax per hour and pax per day - I counted a day as 15 hours to allow for the time I am not keeping an eye on my game.
The three best properties tying for first place are House...
For space launches, there are 4 important buildings. 3 Launch Pads (green, blue, red) and Mission Control Centre (MCC).
If you go to the Space Flights section, it will show you what items you need to start the launch. Click each item if you want to know how to get it. More details can always be found on the wiki page (https://www.airportcitygame.com/wiki/space_flights/).
To start your Space Launch programme, you can either click Fly! from the above picture. Or go directly to your Launch Pad. Choose which launch you want to do by choosing the subsequent Launch Pad. You can only do 1 launch every time. The example here is the Green Launch (Apogee Mission). Click the Green Pad, and you'll get this:

Friends (neighbors) are a very important part of Airport City. Without them, you won't be able to complete tasks or some events. And you will have a hard time gathering launch items without regular visits to your neighbors' cities.
But not all neighbors are the same. You will need to have several different kinds of friends to progress through the game.
Look for neighbors that you can communicate with. This forum and chat are a great way to do that. Some people don't have any friends that are not a member of this forum.
And most importantly, ASK somebody to be their neighbor. Many (including me) delete unsolicited friend requests.

Especially during events, there are lots of posts about horrible drop rates from flights and questions about how to improve drop rates. The single answer to the question is bonuses. Bonuses that increase drop rate can be purchased through events and in the store with greenies but there are also free ways to obtain bonuses.
This will touch only the FREE ways of obtaining bonuses. Not all of them are easy and some take a lot of time.
Each of these bonuses must be activated BEFORE the flights are sent. They do not apply to flights that are already in the air when activated.

Did you know that
You don't have to place first in any launch to get a reward? You could place 100th in a launch and still get a reward in the lander.
There is no point fighting over 2nd and 3rd place? Or 4th/5th or 6th/7th for that matter? They get identical rewards.
Even if you put in zero fuel, you still get a reward
If two people put in the same amount of fuel, the person that joined first gets the higher position

I apologize in advance - this requires math. There are lots of ways to play this game. If you're the type to track things with spreadsheets and plan for everything, this strategy may be for you.
As you achieve new levels, you get rewarded with greenies, coins, passengers and some other stuff. More importantly, your fuel meter is restored - even if it was completely empty.
But do you want to level up? Well of course you do because it unlocks new challenges. But this is more about when you want to level up. You can use leveling up as a way to get lots of fuel fast. This is a great trick when you start collecting maps because most maps are only active for a few hours so you want to get in as many flights in at that time as possible...
A lot of new players don't spend much effort landing guest planes. But there are immense benefits from doing this. Landing guest planes
1) yields experience points and coins (see table below)
2) provides you with additional fuel (1 unit) or passengers (see table)
2) builds up your inventory of repair items
4) drops items to complete collections that yield more coins, experience, flight items and buildings
All levels of plane will drop items for the following collections
Lost and Found: 200 coins, 100 exp plus a Mystery Set that contains 5 random items for flights, repair or duty free
Ancient Reptile: 800 coins, 400 exp
This table shows what other benefits and collections you can get from Guest Planes drops

It has been ten months since I start playing this game now. Time surely gone really fast, no? While I am on alliance transition phase now, I finally have the time to write this m-easy (read: messy) guide to obtains QL for beginners. Hopefully this can help some new players interested to obtains some QLs, to do multiple space launches in a day on regular basis.
First of all, just remember this theory in your mind. The Theory of Everything. One of the collection in this game (not the drama on TV). See the details in here: https://airportcity.fandom.com/wiki/Category:The_Theory_of_Everything_Flights
Based on my experience, this might not be your first way to obtain your QL from, but trust me, it will be your easiest way to obtain it for...
If you're wondering how to do the Excavation Flights, Adventure Flights, or how to obtain Adventure Buildings, you've come to the right thread. Here, I will explain how to do those flights.
As an example, I'll show you how to do the lowest level Excavations flight available which is Excavations: Mesoamerica.
First of all, you need the Airship Dock building. It looks like this:
Sky merchant Duke Croocker will come to your airport every Monday and Thursday. When he comes, his Airship Store will be available for you to access.
On his airship store, you can buy Excavations Map: Mesoamerica. Every time he comes, you can only buy 5 maps with coins for each excavations destinations. You can, of course, choose to buy them with Greenies if...
Since many people are upset about losing the ability to send Fuel(20) from their accounts, here's a guide on how to set up an additional account for exchanging fuel alone. Here are the highlights:
Minimum time and effort to play the fuel account (about 30 seconds a day)
Get up to 20× Fuel(20) on top on your regular gifts
Some people have already ran such rings in the past or are running them currently: @RavenENTP , @gbswales - I am building up on great work they've done, thanks guys!
Here's how to do it:
Find up to 19 other players who will participate in the scheme
Create a support account (guide on supports is here) that can send fuel(20) and level it up to lvl10
Add your main account to your support's neighbors
Add other...
There are multiple ways to speed up flights. This post talks specifically about using the fuel catalyst.
If you plan on speed up flights with fuel, don't bother using the fuel catalyst. The fuel cost to speed up flights is the same whether there is 99% of the flight left or 45 seconds left.
When you open your flight radar, you can tell how many opportunities you have to speed up the flight by the number of chevrons on the progress bar. This flight has two chevrons so two opportunities to speed up the flight. You can only use the fuel catalyst when the plane reaches those points in the flight. To find out how long until you can use the fuel catalyst, tap the nearest chevron. A window will pop up saying "flight acceleration available in...
This post discusses fuel for planes. There is also fuel required for helicopters and rockets that can found elsewhere on the forum.
When you start the game, you have a fuel capacity of 30 units.
As you send out flights, the amount of fuel you have goes down and it replenishes at a rate of 1 fuel unit per minute.
For each level you go up, you get another unit or two of fuel added to your capacity - your first level up will increase your maximum capacity from 30 to 31 units of fuel.
A full table of fuel capacity at each level is available in the wiki https://www.airportcitygame.com/wiki/experience_fuel_level/.
Restoring Fuel Faster
The game automatically replenishes one unit of fuel per minute until you are full to your maximum...
Airport City allows players to send gifts to each other but to do this, you will need to have friends. You can add random players using the game's Add Neighbor feature but you are best to look for neighbors who are forum members so you can communicate with them.
For the record, the two neighbors that always show at the top of your list (Madlen Airborn and Small Village) aren't real neighbors. They are the game's way of sending you free gifts. You can't return them. Although you can visit their cities and tap on their buildings.
Gifts you send do NOT come out of your own inventory of items. Don't worry about sending things you are low on. Gifts are free for you to give.
Most importantly, do NOT send your neighbours what YOU need in...

This is a summary of my studies so far. I only have L2 Helicopters, so its stopped at that. I will update this as we go along, but probably not again until 100 flights for each. The repetition in items seems steady at about 8 different combinations of materials for each flight, so while there may be some narrowing, after 100 it will likely be steady.
Average Cost assumes only the use of H Fuel at 5 units for 10 coins (2 min). Sparrows remain profitable (though in the 10s of coins per hour) at 18 for 55 coins (10 mins), but that's it. Any higher and even Sparrows are losing propositions.
As of 28 May 2018:
For Each Flight - # of flights forming the basis (this will stop at 100), Avg Cost, Avg Profit, Time for flight, Profit/Hr

It would be useful if new users got some guidance on gifting. Just something I wish I would have known when I was at lower levels.
Now that I'm at a higher level, I feel bad about not returning all the landing lamps, radio transmitters (I have 177), fuel supplies and air conditioners (73) that I get but I'm beyond the need for those things and have too many already. I don't want to return them and encourage people to continue sending them.
So, here it is.
We're all limited to sending only 20 gifts per day but many of us have well over a 100 friends. So you need to be clever when it comes to sending gifts otherwise you'll be sending more than you get back.
When gifting items for flights, look for people who are at a similar level...

I've often wondered what the actual drop rates are in regards to the "very seldom" tag. I learned that the "seldom" drop for adventure flights is around 10%, but after getting no answer when I asked GI about the percentages, I decided to do a case study to get an idea of the drop rates. I listed the steps below:
1) I flew to two different destinations: Frankfurt and Stockholm
2) Frankfurt has one collection and the weather item. I only paid attention to the collection drops.
3) Stockholm has one collection, the weather item, and the items required to build the furniture factory. Both collections are "very seldom"....keep that in mind
4)I kept track of each collection until I collected one of each of the 5 collection items.
Frankfurt...
I don't know if anyone else will find this helpful or if this information is available elsewhere in the voluminous forum, but I created a simple guide to show the passenger collection rates per hour for each type of structure. I will post it here. I am also working on a guide for coin collection rates. If you like these guides I can even try to figure out the rates per square of land or based on the cost of the structure. I made this list to help me maximize my rates, and to avoid spending lots of money on buildings with relatively low rates comparatively. Let me know what you all think. Any feed back positive or negative is appreciated.

Hi everybody.
I am fairly new to the game. Lvl 46 with 75 stars. Friendcode: Runesten
Name in game: AaaaRunedrengen
Even though I have spent hours on the game I am still not sure what the right tactic is and I have some questions, where I couldn't easily find the answers here. So I hope you guys want to help out.
So here goes.
1. Is is worth doing the Excavations flights? Doing those takes time away from my Alliance flights.
2. I am in an alliance but we are not reaching all the goals, so the weekly bonus is usually only the first one (flight exp +10%). Should I focus on my own city rather that the alliance?
3. Is it worth doing the purple...

Some thoughts of mine while learning to play this game. Planetariums, planetariums, planetariums... oh the rush of experience points and charging up the levels. How great did it feel! I've been playing for about 12 months and I'm currently sitting at level 77 so it's easy for me (you might say) to sit back and advise newer players to reconsider your rush. Sure, I've done reasonably well. I listened to a lot of good mentors in here. I took on as much advice as I could, but we always want to do it our way. And I did too.
First of all, consider what you will gain by levelling up... more places to visit? More things to buy? More buildings to build? Reality check - In the very short term, you get a box of passengers in your warehouse, a...

Many of us playing Airport City have more than one device capable of installing the game. That's why some of us have started "support games."
What's a support game?
It's a low-maintenance game to feed our main game with Fuel (20), which I consider the best gift available.
Can every support game gift Fuel (20)?
No. If I install an AC game that has Passengers (10) in place of Fuel (20), I delete the game and install a new one. Eventually Fuel (20) will appear on the gift list. There are times, however, when Fuel (20) is replaced by Passengers (10) at a certain level, usually Level 10. If you make it past that with Fuel (20) still available, you have yourself a prime support game. Then you can gift your main game Fuel (20) once a day...
Visiting neighbours is an important part of Airport City.
Many tasks require you to visit neighbours' buildings
All major events require visiting neighbours
You can visit neighbours to gather passengers, coins or fuel and collection items.
Keep in mind that Airport City sometimes has challenges between platforms. Look for neighbours using the same platform as you. IOS and Android are compatible. Windows is another platform. Facebook is another platform.
When you visit a neighbour, you can tap 5 buildings. Each building gives something (coins, passengers, fuel, quest items). When you tap the 5th building it releases a heart. COLLECT THE HEART! If you leave too soon, the visit doesn't count. Visiting the maximum neighbours every day...
A new event — St. Patrick’s Day — is available for players of level 6+.
Here’s what needs to be done to complete the event:

- Complete the Mysterious Celts collections by flying to Irish cities of Dublin, Cork and Limerick. In order to do it you need to cut down clovers using a Silver Crescent and find a Four-Leaf Clover — then use it to send airplanes en route to the cities.
- Gather an armful of Three-Leaf Clovers (200 pcs) either from...
