Be careful of declared and undeclared. I’d be very surprised if SA has zero deaths.
The age profile of infections is mostly under 70 years old and (for now) 76% (or more) of cases reported is from international travel arrivals (and not local transmission). This will of course change as local transmissions increase and the travel restrictions reduce the number of travelers.

Here in Russia your bloody tatianas and svetlanas don't give a shit. Half of them think its a conspiracy theory, other half smoke and don't care about their health anyway.
It's a nightmare. Only a small percentage of the country is taking this seriously because official statitics put it at 330 infections, but there have hardly been any tests of of course its low.

My company wont close. Sigh.
I call BS. 163,529 tests have been done in Russia (source). All standard measures to prevent spreading are taking place, many people take it seriously, some even extremely so, other maybe not so much. Pretty sure that it's just like everywhere else ;)
And, judging by your nickname, your country of origin is Ukraine, not Russia. This is not the time or place for this kind of stuff.

No wrong not Ukraine. I'm from England. I have no interest in your Ukraine Russia politics. I'm simply saying that I work in a "school" but it's registered as a company and they wont close because the management aren't taking this seriously at all. Also, talking to the students who come, they have been saying this things I mentioned. for the first few weeks I got all sorts of nonsense about consiparacy theories, not worrying cos theyre young etc. Yes a lot of students are staying home but at least half are still coming and saying this stuff.

163000 tests I don't doubt it. I'm not saying those tests havent been conducted I'm saying that there is great inefficiency in the results of those and that many people who are ill are not getting tested!

Government policy to shut border with china immediately was GREAT! very good idea! But there is an air that people here think this problem does not concern them. 500 infections today, that number is probably many times larger

Officially @ 930 AM CST The gov'nr of Wisconsin issued the 'Stay at Home' order for the entire state unless you are essential to the community.

Today in Amman / Jordan we will get the breads and water and medicine buy bus protected by policemen and military its a difficult time but is for our safety wish and this will be maybe for the next month no one allowed to go outside without a permission thanks to our government they doing the best 👍

In my hometown things are going on as normal although our favourite oasis close very early staying sober is the hardest thing to do, and there are people around the house that I had no idea still live here (I was told that they'll be here for the next 12 years or so).

There are daily briefings on the state of health and so far no one has died. I'm currently working from home and the only thing I panic buy is my Heinekens.

Very interesting measures taken by various governments around the world. These are very interesting times indeed and all I want is to see us as a humanity on the other side of this pandemic telling stories.

May the powers that be preserve us.

I'm impressed to see so many countries taking this virus seriously, and taking action to protect their citizens. Here in the USA (with the 3rd highest number of cases world wide), we have a president still living in lala land, who thinks the whole thing will be over in 15 days and everyone can go back to work. He is getting ready to silence Dr Fauci, the one person telling the truth about the virus. We have a lieutenant governor in Texas who thinks seniors should be willing to die in order to keep the economy going for their grandchilren.. Our congressmen can't agree on any kind of a stimulus program because they all want to get their special little programs included (emission controls on planes? Bailout for large corporations? Obama phones?). There are still no tests available (unless you are in professional sports or a high goverment position), lack of ventilators, masks and hospital equipment.

I try to stay neutral when it comes to politics, because there really is no good side. This crisis only proves that point.

It’s also reported that of the 400k declared with the virus in the world over a quarter have recovered. Let’s have some POSITIVE news here too and NOT all doom and gloom!
Good point and even more positive is the number of people who have not been tested, whose symptoms have been very mild, have recovered and have not been counted in any figures. Not a reason to be complacent at all but why do the media continue to quote the doom and gloom all the time - except it sells papers and air time.

Well every negative post on here will be countered by a positive! For those of us stuck inside for over 10 days we need positive vibes not constant negative news.

Ok, positive note here. In our little coastal town, as of 2 days ago, we have tested 35 people, 5 results pending and 30 negative. But while i was in the hospital having a procedure done today, my husband said they shuffled 3 people from the ER to the little screening tent outside. Everybody with gloves, masks and gowns. Fingers crossed. Tourist season is starting, and not everyone is as careful as our locals.

I wonder how other leaders around the world are reacting to this thing.
It seems POTUS isn't wanting to heed the advice of 'medical' experts.
I too would like this to be over by Easter.
I'm one of those in the category of being quite vulnerable to this thing and here with a headache, cough, scratchy throat, but mt temp is normal. However, a diabetic, hypertension, and on ACE inhibitors, I'm scared to venture away from home
