I’d guessed that. Shame you don’t say up front.

This event was in 2 parts. The event itself was the tasks where, yes everyone pulled together. And is perfectly achievable.
The second was the premium and basic progress to get extras. You pay your premium like the first time round. But the event is flawed. It’s so bad calculated that you can’t finish without spending more. You might enjoy shelling out cash whenever you want. My point was the principal. There is no difference between basic and premium in the achievability of the exercise. If it’s not achievable by anyone without having to pay something. it shouldn’t be advertised as free game for minimum age 4 year olds! You obviously haven’t been around very long but this is a completely different tack to GI than what they have done before.
I’ve paid my bit for this event. If I want to pay more I will, if I dont i wont. Don’t need some smart Alec to tell me to stop playing. Been around slightly longer than you. But thanks for the input.
Very flawed. I think this is all a part of the growing pains of this new event system. It has potential, but it needs improvement and bringing back of some of the features of the previous event style

Thanks for the aggressive history lesson, was just wondering why you were complaining so much. Personally I don't play the events if I don't think they're achievable and yes, I went premium as the rewards are well worth it but haven't spent a penny more.
I don't really want to read about your moaning, complain to GI as they're the only ones who can change things, congratulations on being older than me and by the way your obviously confused, my name isn't Alec it's Alex.

IMHO This was a very badly planned and executed EVENT. The two main buildings look the same and caused a lot of confusion at the start, for me anyway but I am a tad thick. The MINI game was novel and a laugh for about five minutes, and then it soon became a tremendous time-wasting boor. Tickets or Flasks should have fallen from certain levels, flights, or buildings. I appreciate that GI is always looking to increase profit margins but they're getting it both annoyingly and embarrassingly wrong by not thinking things out and TESTING the event for enjoyable game-play and due fairness.

I can afford to throw money at the game, but many cannot and will feel cheated. Despite what has been said, I would have found it hard to complete as with Windows OS I was almost 2 days behind so had to use cash to catch up. Amazingly, the last 3 levels fell into my lap today with an inane 3 X 0.79p before their error disappeared--if it was an error? Nice for me, but not for a lot of others.

There are both good and bad bugs in this game, so, all in all, that's sloppy work by GI in the race to coin some extra cash in.

This EVENT wasn't as much fun as it should have been but rather unfair, annoying, and disappointing. I don't understand why GI would want to treat players with such contempt just for an extra buck, and all the game-play undermined by sloppy design and poor program engine work.

Baz :(

I agree with most of what you have stated. There is a difference between the premium and the basic. The very first premium item provides 20% bonus in flasks for every mini game played. That being said, the basic game is impossible to complete, in my opinion, and premium is very hard to complete.

As many have said, you don't have to play every event. Like others I too have passed on a few that I didn't feel were achievable without spending more time or money than I felt the reward warranted. It is supposed to be fun (for me at least) and not an obligation.

I do appreciate that they are continually trying to innovate the game play, and that not all ideas work out (do all your ideas work out?). I would be surprised if G! was not continually looking at feedback, as the last thing they want is for people to stop playing events.

I agree that not all ideas work out, but as a provider of a product/service, it's imperative to consider feedback from the potential consumer as well as pre-testing to ensure that the event is indeed doable under normal circumstances. Even if the event can be completed in 12 days, it still isn't feasible if you have to set timers and purchase items to finish it. People have their lives outside of the game (work, spouses, kids, travel, etc.), so that should be considered when gauging the difficulty. Not to mention some players get the event late (windows) which causes even more variation in completion time. Before the update is released, the event should be played in its entirety so that the developer can gauge the difficulty and see if it is feasible.
I would say that the average player should be able to complete the event with 2 or 3 days remaining for it to be considered a reasonable difficulty, with the most avid players (those who set timers, paying extra money, etc) getting it done with double the time remaining (so at least 4 to 6 days). An event should be doable by all players whether they are willing to pay or not. Money should make the task easier and completed faster; it shouldn't be the determining factor between who completes it vs who doesn't. Just my opinion by the way.

I like you said "Money should make the task easier and completed faster; it shouldn't be the determining factor between who completes it vs who doesn't."
It is totally I very agree.

Well...I just made the purchases to finish the event. Hated doing it, but it made financial sense given the circumstances. Now I can retain my few remaining lucky tickets and I no longer have to be scraping for flasks. I will do my best to ensure that this doesnt happen again, as I certainly underestimated how difficult the event would be.
@Barkmi4 (Mike) you calculated 7000 flasks total is required to finish this event. Do you know if it was the same for Curse Of The Valley Of The Kings? Maybe 7000 is always the target, which would make it easier for us to calculate the feasibility of an event from the start

I didn’t log it, perhaps @Pit1024 did, I know he’s good with these things?
But having looked through the quest reward thread, the levels appear to have different points. Not sure what the total needed was, but I think it was more.

As others have said, G! have peed me off with their pay to complete approach in this event. You may have been able to finish without buying extras if you bought the pass straight away and were very calculated on iOS/Android. But personally, the ads have been playing silly buggers for days and yesterday I only gained 1 extra pass which really screwed my chances.

I think windows players are the only ones able to complete free due to the bug.

I try to be positive, but I think their move was damn right wrong. They introduced a new feature which must have made them a load of extra money..... then got greedy and tried to increase it.
I won’t be buying the next one unless it’s significantly better, and possible to complete without spending extra. **** em.

I agree. It wasnt a satisfactory feeling with making those purchases, but there is no way I was going to pass up a mystery building, sky captain, random plane, platinum chest, and the state university when all of that costs me an extra 3 dollars. The principle was all wrong, and I feel like GI has just been off the mark for the past few months.
They made such great strides with 7.0, and to be honest, I think things started slipping shortly after Ivan left. I dont think we really realized how great he was at his job with not only communicating with us, but now we're seeing the consequence of his departure with the products. At least when he was there, they always seemed to test the feasibility of these tasks and his communication with us was a big factor in that. The past few months....things have just gone downhill. Between the countless bugs for their latest version, the lack of communication, and now this "pay to win" situation, it's really left a bad taste in my mouth. I actually hate that I love this game as much as I do right now, else all of this wouldve led me to an early retirement. They need to do better when it comes to their customers. 😑

Who's gonna pay? 🤔
I gave up the event in the second I've realized that it cannot be done without putting real money.
Anyway, the prizes for regular version are ridiculous.

Even after all this, GI still insisted event can be completed (albeit, challenging)
