Yet again it has proved to be a very interesting read. Had I known all this beforehand, I could have saved myself a lot of time, and just written one paragraph about the current event. So very pleased, I do not do these special events. I hate to see players being taken advantage of, GI should be more upfront. I dislike all this slight of hand.

Same here. My guess is that they got a bunch of complaints about finishing the event, so they decided to make a profit from the shortcoming. I guarantee you that people will pay for this. In all honesty, its not a bad deal at all if you consider what you get and what you bypass. However, people who do the event would have felt cheated...and the timing of it all is all too perfect for people who are 5 to 7 levels away from completion and are desperate. To them, it's low hanging juicy fruit that may be too tempting to pass up.
Yes, I made the last three levels for pennies. Not fair practice for those struggling or who cannot afford it.

Baz :)

Disagree with the PRINCIPAL of putting on a game that is unachievable. Business sense or not, it’s dishonest in my book. No event has ever been as unachievable as this without resorting to bugs, or spending extra cash.
People have completed the event so it's not unachievable and yes not all business is ethical (we have a choice whether to avail ourselves or not of that business). I seem to remember the volcano event causing a much bigger stir than this one. People have been able to work together and help each other much more than I have ever seen in other events which, as far as I'm concerned is only to be applauded.

Cards on the table, I have absolutely no problem with GI asking me for money. If I think it's worth it I'll send money, if I don't think it's worth it, guess what? I won't.

I'm only playing a game after all said and done.

But how many have finished? Playing fair? Not paying to finish? Not using bugs here and there? The point is thier maths was out from the start. The videos have screwed up iOS and android players. An hour between and after 12 hours, 15 hours, 18 hours! Yes it’s a game. But this event has been badly designed.

Old style events are about drop rates. This évent isn’t. It’s a about BAD maths.

I think, sadly, there are a lot of very nieve players out there.
If you think you can play an online game to it's full potential with out the enticement to spend money, you're mistaken.

Sorry, I don't understand. If you don't like the way GI run the events why do you get involved in them. Please explain so I may understand.

I think we have forgotten something in all this discussion. Usually GI sell something 24 hours before the event is due to finish. Normally event packs x7.

On this occasion they are offering an opportunity to boost your progress midway through the event. (5 days to go).

I think this is GI admitting that progress to level 20 is not achievable without some help ( at a price )

I would expect that this offer will be repeated again with a day to go.

I’d guessed that. Shame you don’t say up front.

This event was in 2 parts. The event itself was the tasks where, yes everyone pulled together. And is perfectly achievable.
The second was the premium and basic progress to get extras. You pay your premium like the first time round. But the event is flawed. It’s so bad calculated that you can’t finish without spending more. You might enjoy shelling out cash whenever you want. My point was the principal. There is no difference between basic and premium in the achievability of the exercise. If it’s not achievable by anyone without having to pay something. it shouldn’t be advertised as free game for minimum age 4 year olds! You obviously haven’t been around very long but this is a completely different tack to GI than what they have done before.
I’ve paid my bit for this event. If I want to pay more I will, if I dont i wont. Don’t need some smart Alec to tell me to stop playing. Been around slightly longer than you. But thanks for the input.
