I have noticed that if I speed up flights to volcano destinations with fuel, I get no drops from the collection (only marshmallows). All my drops have been from non-sped-up flights. (yes, I am using bonuses -- SG+D yesterday and SG today). Anyone else notice this, or have I hit on some weird statistical randomness?

I have gotten no drops from event flights so far. Nada, zilch, zip, zero. Sigh.

Anyone know how this works? I think it’s unchanged for me so far (also thinking about how we record this in the wiki if it does change).

Will flights also require nano coating at any point and does it only effect the volcano destinations?

Wondering if I should prioritise the event flight stars/volcanologist collection & building first and then the Cold War collection/Jumbo ranger flights second (if their fuel costs will remain the same).

you will see 10% increase at day ?3 (I'm not sure at which exact day), meaning +2 for Owl destination, then it will become +30% at day 6 (+5 for Owl), later +50% and during the last days of the event even +100%. So fly as much intensively as possible from the beginning, if you want to fly multiple destinations it is wise to start from the higher end plane type destinations first and to leave lower end planes for the end of the event.

And that goes into another problem. The game doesn't want to drop the final item in the set. Sometimes, I get the feeling that I'm being jerked around.

And I honestly hope that I don't get into an absurd situation with collections like what I had with the Wonderland event. I never could finish the notebook quest because I had done all of the Wonderland flights to get a 3 expertise stars, long since completing the required event collections and by the time got to the "Build building X", it was impossible because I actually had six of the building down.

And I honestly hope that I don't get into an absurd situation with collections like what I had with the Wonderland event. I never could finish the notebook quest because I had done all of the Wonderland flights to get a 3 expertise stars, long since completing the required event collections and by the time got to the "Build building X", it was impossible because I actually had six of the building down.

Simple solution: if you have 6x buildings and you get the task to build a building, put one in the store and then bring it back. It will be counted, it will cost you the price for warehousing the building, for most event buildings 90% of (4,000 or 4,800).

Sounds like it is just you. I would go to the app store and do a search for it and force it to update.

How do you know that your neighbors haven’t started the event?
unless you actually talked to them, you just don’t know. Until you start the event, you won’t see any volcano on your neighbors cities, even if they have it in their cities.

I stared the event and am actually very close to getting a third star for the owl destination (Mount Elbrus) as well as working on the 2nd expertise star for the Hawk destination (Mount Fuji). I got my first institute and before that, I was in the Titanium League. I do think something is off the drops because the game doesn't want to drop the last item in a set.

Actually, 2 of my collections were completed with perfectly even distribution of items (exactly 1 of each item) the first 2 times. Now THAT freaked me out!

This is the pattern I was seeing earlier.

One thing did change since then and that was that I did get a completed "Gates to Hell Collection".
