For myself, Special events always come first.

After that I work through the side quests until they reach a level above me and I cant complete anymore until I change my fleet of planes. I then send all my planes to each location until I 3*, starting from the bottom working my way up.

Before I get rid of my fleet, I then work on the adventure and space maps.

Every two days I visit neigthbours with Golden Dice and just focus on planetariums, meaning I can then take part in Space launches.

Must admit, took me quite a while to sort out my own way of playing, but since then it seems to make it a lot more enjoyable, rather then previously opening up the game and wondering what to do!

1 - Side Quests - not too much focus spent on these..will dabble from time to time if I have spare aircraft!
2 - Space Launches - main part of the game for me! Really enjoyable especially with all the QL parties going on! Useful for building up coins, fuel supplies as well as tokens and maps!!
3 - 3* Locations - never been a goal of mine. Maybe the rewards are not that exciting!
4 - Space Maps - just begun this really as my fuel supplies had grown sufficiently for me to attempt! Looking forward to trying to complete a few more of these..
5 - Adventure Maps - would like to do a few more of these but time and fuel is needed elsewhere!!
6 - Completing Collections - enjoy this part and again priorites lie elsewhere for the time being!
7 - Special Events - always look forward to these as often a special building is a great prize in the end up!

You forgot this one @Dave
8 - Building and upgrading airport - my main aim. Upgrading buildings and trying to increase max population and passengers! This is going to be needed when the reserve hanger and other destinations arrive as much more flying will be done and more passengers are going to be vital

As @Dave mentions
I also activate golden dice every second day and raid the planetariums of my neighbours!

For me main source of income for upgrading buildings is launches.
Every week i try to do 100 red so that i can get 10000 coins per launch and i can earn 1000000 in a week. This helps me a lot.

1. Quests/Events/Special Events because the reward is a building. Everything that yields buildings really I am after.
2. Collections that yield buildings (i.e. landing guest planes now).
3. Side quests to get rid of the icons on the left.
4. Launches so that I can get the building rewards (i.e. alien legacy, rocket garden, space monument) and tokens (gold/silver).
5. Post-space quests (i.e. edge of tomorrow) to get the building rewards (Space Needle, Hydroponic Greenhouse, the Luna-park)
5. Adventure & Excavation Maps to get more buildings if I already got the first (from item 1 above).
6. Don't care much about stars or counting flights/launches. If it happens, good. Else I usually try to build up fuel reserves (restock 10 units every hour).

i.e. I have finished the St. Patrick's day quest, and even though I still need a few flights to Limerick to 3* all flights, I don't bother.

I'd rather spend my fuel/energy for example to get a second Luna-park (or a third, fourth, etc.).

Like most things in life, I'm a firm believer in a balanced approach. I see all seven of these elements as important to the game.
1 - Side Quests: Having unfinished side quests is a daily visual reminder that I have things left to "win" in the game.
2 - Space Launches: After I three-starred all the flights, my enthusiasm faded for these. I don't need the coins and I've got plenty of gold and silver tokens (but nothing worthwhile to spend them on). I've been tapping on neighbors' "space" buildings since October, getting items for Launch Ready Chests; right now I have over 1,200 of them ready for the Mission to Mars challenge (or whatever it's called). Every day I open these chests until I get a PEB. I currently have 323 Large Fuel Tanks, 243 Main Stabilizers and 137 Powerful Explosive Bolts. I will be ready.
3 - 3* Locations: To me, this is the yardstick for success in the game. Flying to all destinations for that many times is a very, very difficult task. I like difficult tasks.
4 - Space Maps: Quite difficult and lots of fun.
5 - Adventure Maps: Quite difficult and lots of fun again.
6 - Completing Collections: Being a completist, I relish these.
7 - Special Events: Always fun, even if they are repetitive.
To repeat what I've said many times in this forum in the past, the great thing about Airport City is that you play against the game and can focus your energies in the areas that motivate you the most.
Cheers,
Tom

1. Adventure Map(s), that's my priority now
2. Since all flying destinations are finished, looking for 3* on adventure quest destination
3. Regular Quests to get any reward, if possible.
4. Collecting ammo for Mars mission
5. Collecting Golden chests, since GI "reduce" the cost for restarting Casino... :blackeye:
6. Launches
7. Modifying the city... :D

Over the years my strategy hasn't changed much to how I play this game. For me gaining 3 stars for all the destinations is the target and yardstick Also like @greensmith Tom says - having all reward building for quests shows commitment.

That said my other 5 priorities for playing the game can be summed up as follows;

1. Have a list of neighbours who are active on the forum, play regularly and always gift consistently.
2. Have a list of neighbours who are active on the forum, play regularly and gift occasionally.
3. Have a list of neighbours who are active on the forum, play regularly and gift the odd occasion
4.Have a list of neighbours who are active on the forum and play regularly.
5. Have a list of neighbours who are active on the forum.

So in summary without neighbours and this forum its blooming difficult.

My strategy changed a lot....
first I wanted to get all buildings and stars..... Then GI stole several builings with an update from my warehouse and gave back only a few....
Then I tried to understand the game, can I influence the drop rate without dices, without altering the game....
After that I am starting to loose interest more and more... The only real reason why I didn't stop yet is the forum.
Reasons why I think about quiting are the reruns of quests (nothing new so becomes boring), the constant thread of being blocked completely, and the constant changing rules of GI which gives a unfair advantage to older games (waiting over half a year now for a casino etc offer for a younger game and if it comes I don't know if I can buy one due to the inflation of 1000% from one day to another)

Yeah, I don't really like re-runs, especially those that are going into the 3rd year.
Xmas is probably the only exception I would tolerate, but it would be nice to have some new variations for repeat quests.

Repetation is ok. But the game should be more complicated. New Players like I do has an advantage to experience old event. But new events and challenges should be there too. So, to make this game interesting is how to make this game complicated. For example, should be 2 - 3 events at the same time. In the new future, maybe more. So new can get the old events and old can try the new events and not afraid the event will not come back next year......

I have been playing this game now for 3 years, this is my third time :) I remember when the green pad was first introduced.... The game was pretty cool as it was but space launches made it way better... I am a space junkie:) Space is my priority along with visiting my friends and sending gifts :) All the other missions are secondary to me... I wish GI would bring back the casino offer again.... I totally agree that without this site, AC would be almost impossible to get where we all are at :)

I have been playing this game for more than 2 years. My style have changed a lot over this time.

Earlier it was saving coins to buy land..visiting daily max available neighbor to increase your heart count...and yes trading a lot to complete various buildings.and yes..installing all those games to collect bonus greens :) And becoming extra active during quest times.. Then came along space events...:) was really fun. I completely ignored the adventure flights. Only exception is that i have 3 pyramids. Rest all destinations are pending...and probably i won't try them ever.

Now a days i just make sure that i sent out 20 gifts to a random list of my active neighbors..and visiting a few of them who have five of those special space buildings. you can say a lazy old timer :D

EDIT: i do visit this forum every now and then to keep up with you all fantastic guys and gals (y)

I've been playing for two weeks, still figuring things out. I hate not being able to complete those side bubbles, have enjoyed getting the couple 3 stars on flights frustratingly slow getting items to update buildings......
