Game over for me (and, I’m afraid, many other long‑term players)

After the latest update with 5 stars per destination, years of honest flying have effectively been erased. The game still shows all‑time flight statistics for each route, but those flights no longer count toward the new 4th and 5th stars. We are being asked to refly tens of thousands of flights we already did, just to “earn back” progress we had before.
Like many long‑term players, I am putting Airport City on hold.
We loved this game and have been loyal for more than ten years, but now we feel cheated and our motivation is gone.
We will only consider coming back if there is an update that fixes the star rankings and counts all already completed flights toward the new stars.
Until then – game over.

I get what you are saying but you will have done the extra flights to get items that you needed from those places surely not to get stars you didn’t know were coming , so I can see why they’ve done it the way they have , I realise how high up in the game ,if not the highest you are ,but surely it’s an opportunity to rejig your planes ownerships and work through again getting the additional stars . Everybody is still way behind you . Just gives us more to do .i will just continue working my way through it , least the early flights will come back quicker ,I’d got to the point that my flights take so long to come back I forget about them .

I understand your point when you say that we originally flew those routes mainly for VR/ER/EP/RDF and other drops, not for stars that didn’t exist at that time.
The problem is not that we didn’t get “extra” stars as a gift – it’s that the game now pretends those flights never happened for the new system, even though all‑time statistics for every destination clearly show them.
In my case we are not talking about a few hundred flights, but literally tens of thousands done over more than ten years.

The update basically says: do the same work again from zero, just because the rules changed, while some other players still keep inflated stars from old bugs and removed destinations.
That combination destroys any sense of fair competition in the ranking.

Of course I could rejig my planes and work through it again, but for many of us this is exactly why motivation is gone. We already proved our dedication and invested years of time (and money).
Starting from scratch only because the game ignores its own all‑time stats doesn’t feel like “more to do”, it feels like having our progress wiped out. If they at least recalculated stars once using the data they already have, most long‑term players would probably accept the new system. Without that, for many of us it’s simply game over.
I also understand that the developers want to slow the game down so that nobody can ever truly “finish” it. That’s fine in itself – it means they don’t have to constantly add new town hall levels and new planes, and we get long‑term goals. A good example was the helicopter event, where you needed 1000 flights and the screws for those flights were produced very slowly and could not be stockpiled in advance because of storage limits. I accepted that and adapted. Every year I pushed Crossbill and Goldfinch by 2–3 extra stars, and it was hard but still reasonable.
What is happening now is different. With the broken ranking, the new system is simply demotivating. Even before the last update, a dozen or so players already had more than 2,000 stars, which is physically impossible with 538 destinations. GI clearly has the data to fix this, but chooses not to use it. So what is the point of playing for stars when the ranking will never be a real ranking?
For many new players this might not matter yet, but for people who have been playing for 10–15 years it is unacceptable.
Our flights are recorded in the all‑time statistics, but they no longer count. Without a one‑time recalculation and a clean, fair ranking, there is no reason for us to keep chasing stars.

I was thingking forward and backwards without comming to a conclusion.

However, now another issues appeared.
My support game using Windows does not start anymore and the Information of the technical support is that there is yet no update is available for now.
Until this update is available that de should use the updated game only.

This does help me to make a decition.
Here and yet, this game has an end for me.

I have to say thank you for the pleasure being a part of the wonderful comunity. And i hope that still enjoy this game.
