I’ve been (slowly) working my way through adventure maps, but was fortunate enough to complete one of the Sky Captain collections this week and now planning to empty out my fuel inventory on a few Ancient Egypt maps using SC/SG/Dice all at the same time. I should have enough fuel to do 155-160 Eagle flights with fuel speed ups.

Question is, how many flights should I expect to need to get 36 drops on a map using those bonuses? Is it realistic that I could get through 2 of the Ancient Egypt maps with 36 drops each by taking ~75-80 flights to each? Moreso just curious what others’ drop rates have been using these stacked bonuses - so far I have pretty much just used SG and it often takes over 100 flights to get to 36 drops.

I always do 100 flights minimum for the stars, and always run with SC, SG and D.
My best with these on adventure flights, is 52 drops. I have had 50 drops too. Due to this, I plan for 50 collections - I save enough for 140 flights to do 50 collections. I haven’t counted, but I don’t think I have ever exceeded 140 flights for 50 collections. This gives a bit of spare fuel for bad weather too.
Using 50/140 = 36% (35.7%), which means 100 flights = 36 items.

I ran 385 flights this week to 1 destination using D, GD, SC, SG. This suggests 50% drop rate for these. Working this backwards gives 40% rate for the bonuses you want to use. This suggests you would need 90 flights to each for 36 items.

To answer your question, I would say you don’t quite have enough. I think 160 flights would give you ~64 items.

Remember, 40% is based on an average from 385 flights to the same destination. If you plan to that and have a bad day you will be disappointed. I always plan to 36% rate with those bonuses. Just my 2 cents.

Very helpful - I think I will save up some more fuel before activating SC in that case!

I very rarely accelerate flights on adventure maps. If you can afford to run 6 of the same aircraft, and use Vintage Weathervane and Spyglass bonuses, you can get enough drops for one destination to make it work well (typically 12 flights for one map gets between 3 and 6 collectibles). The main advantages with this strategy are:
  • Excavation maps and adventure maps are freely available (gold coins are always earned for free to get excavation maps and adventure maps drop from excavation map flights). You need no other flight items.
  • With the 100 item warehouse limit, the key to keeping your aircraft in the air - swap to excavation and adventure flights when you run out of flight items.
  • You can save your fuel for the Alliance maps - these really do need fuel acceleration to work for your game. You can only earn the maps from Top 100 alliance positions (you probably need a year of Top 100 to get enough maps to make this a worthwhile prospect), you need additional flight items, and the maps only last for 3 hours.

I try to keep my warehouse stocked to 100 maps for each of the excavation routes to give me maximum options. I now tend to fly Alliance mission destinations in the early part of the week, and swap to excavation maps/adventure maps from Thursday onwards. However, if you still have lots of standard destination still to 3 star, you may want to keep working on these until you run out of flight items. Even if you are madly saving (for example 6,000,000 for that critical control tower upgrade) you can probable afford to use 10,000 coins twice a week to buy 5 maps for one destination. I often spent 80,000 coins a week because it was such a big advantage to swap to excavation maps - I always had the crippling 100 item limit. Give it a try, and see how well it could work for you. :)

Just did an Adventure map run for the Ancient Rome destinations.
Bonuses: Sky Captain, Spy Glass, Dice, Business Class

Drop rates:
Constantinople (not Istanbul): 6 drops / 11 flights
Carthage: 6/11
Veii: 6/12
Ephesus: 6/10
Merida: 6/15
Total: 30/59 (50.8%), 1 Colosseum, zero stars

Consumables: ~4500 fuel (mostly from gifts, used a few from reserve), probably about 2500 pax

Taking a breath to let my passenger buildings rebuild, I may try another go at it for a second Colosseum before the bonuses run out.

Well done keep going (y) ;)

Round 2 of Adventure Map run for Ancient Rome is in the books.
Bonuses: SC, SG, D, BC, and added Vintage Weathervane for no good reason.

Drop rates for the second run:
Istanbul (not Constantinople): 6/10
Carthage: 6/13
Veii: 6/15
Ephesus: 6/9
Merida: 6/18
Total: 30/65 (46.2%)

Consumables: 19 F150, 2 F20, 13 Px150

Total for the two runs today:
Constantinople: 12/21
Carthage: 12/24
Veii: 12/27
Ephesus: 12/19
Merida: 12/33
Total: 60/124 (48.4%)
Also picked up 4 stars, and I sent a slow plane to Ephesus to pick up that 5th star and maybe one more Furietti Centaur (we'll see). :ROFLMAO:

Two new Colosseums (Colossei?) appearing next Monday to go with my two Aztec Pyramids. Time to start saving fuel again so I can build toward some Stonehenge maps.

This might be a contentious post, but my understanding of the old bonuses and gold sub is that it only affects items that live in the warehouse. The same as Sky Capt and Dice in the old world.
My understanding of the description provided, is that it does not affect collectible or quest item drops (I.e. items that make up collections or event items).
E.g. it will help you when you fly to excavation destinations that drop map chests, but won’t help when you activate a map and fly there.

@Ur-quan would be able to provide some clarity on the matter please?

I did flights to Ancient Rome destinations this week with Sky Captain, Spyglass, Dice and Golden Dice. All flights were done over 3 days using lots of fuel to speed up flights, used one map for each destination except Constantinoble where I used 2 maps.

Constantinoble
99 flights
36 drops
36%

Carthage
92 flights
41 drops
44%

Veii
90 flights
36 drops
40%

Ephesus
68 flights
40 drops
58%

Merida
71 flights
38 drop
53%

I did Ephesus (58%) first then Merida (53%), Veii (40%), Chartage (44%) and Constantinoble (36%) last.
So I started with the best drop rate and it went downhill from there, probably a coincident but I will investigate for sure when I do the Stonehenge maps.

Since I opened the free Spy Glass this morning, I decided to go on an Aztec Pyramid run. Here are the stats:

Bonuses Used: Sky Captain, Spy Glass, Business Class, Dice

Machu Picchu: 12/23 (52.2%)
Tollan: 12/21 (57.1%)
Quetzalcoatl: 11/29 (37.9%) (I already had one drop from a previous run)
Tenochtitlan: 12/19 (63.2%)
Chichen Itza: 12/31 (38.7%)
Total: 59/123 (48.0%)

Consumables:
175-200 F20 Gifts
51 F50
5 F150

Managed to avoid spending any Pax from my warehouse, that was pleasing. Just kept using ads on House of Disturbances and tapping my faster-loading Pax buildings as they came up.

Time for an Aztec Pyramid run to complete my 6 Pyramids (currently 4 on the map). Here are the stats:

Run 1 - Friday AM
I ran each destination non-stop until I got 6 drops
Machu Picchu: 6/15 (40%)
Tollan: 6/19 (31.6%)
Quetzlcoatl: 6/17 (35.3%)
Tenochtitlan: 6/13 (46.2%)
Chichen Itza: 6/24 (25%)
Total: 30/88 (34.1%)

Active Bonuses: Sky Captain, Spy Glass, Business Class, Dice, Bottomless Barrel, Secret Faucet

Fuel Consumed
F20: 81 (50 from gifts / 31 from reserve)
F50: 73
Pax: 0 from reserve

Run 2 - Friday PM
I switched this one up by alternating destinations until I got down to needing the last drop
Machu Picchu: 6/23 (26.1%)
Tollan: 6/25 (24%)
Quetzlcoatl: 6/17 (35.3%)
Tenochtitlan: 6/17 (35.3%)
Chichen Itza: 6/9 (66.7%)
Total: 30/91 (33.0%)

Fuel Consumed
F50: 6
F150: 35
Pax: 0 from reserve

Total Runs Today
Machu Picchu: 12/38 (31.6%)
Tollan: 12/44 (27.3%)
Quetzlcoatl: 12/34 (35.3%)
Tenochtitlan: 12/30 (40%)
Chichen Itza: 12/33 (36.4%)
Total: 60/179 (33.5%)

Same active bonuses as January, but the drop rate went from nearly 1/2 to 1/3. Interesting.

Today i did Carthage, one map using a butt-ton of fuel barrels

100 flights, 45 drops = 45%
i had active:
dice, golden dice, spyglass, weathervane - NO sky captain or junior pilot

earlier in the week i did Constantinople, one map:
100 flights, 59 drops
had active: SC/JP/D/GD/SG

Another successful Adventure Map run is in the books.

The setup:
Bonuses: Sky Captain, Spy Glass, Golden Dice, Dice, Golden Wrench, Junior Pilot, Business Class, Secret Faucet

The strategy:
Two separate map runs for Colosseum destinations.
First time through, fly a single plane to one destination until I get 6 drops
Second time through, fly each destination in sequence, cutting out the destination after 6 drops achieved.

First time through:
Constantinople: 6/14 (43%) - first four flights returned drops
Carthage: 6/13 (46%)
Veii: 6/14 (43%)
Ephesus: 6/10 (60%)
Merida: 6/7 (85%)
Total: 30/58 (52%)

Second time through:
Constantinople: 6/10 (60%)
Carthage: 6/16 (37.5%) - last destination to register a drop (the others had 2-4 already)
Veii: 6/13 (46.2%)
Ephesus: 6/9 (67%)
Merida: 6/16 (37.5%)
Total: 30/64 (46.9%)

Totals:
Constantinople: 12/24 (50%)
Carthage: 12/29 (41%)
Veii: 12/27 (44%)
Ephesus: 12/19 (63%)
Merida: 12/22 (55%)
Grand Total: 60/121 (50%)

Consumables:
1300+ fuel to start from the last event collections
216 Fuel from Fuel Station
81 F20 gifts
29 F20 from warehouse
2 F50 from warehouse
34 F150 from warehouse
1 P300 from warehouse
10+ P10 from gifts

Since I had a little extra time and didn't have any more Constantinople or Veii Maps, I decided to make a partial run to get the final dozen drops for those two cities - I'll wrap up the others on another map run later.

Constantinople: 12/21 (57%)
Veii: 12/29 (41%)
Total: 24/50 (48%)

Final Roman Adventure is in the books. I had previously run Constantinople and Veii, just needed to get 12 drops from the remaining 3 Rome destinations.

Two separate runs - first time through I ran until I got 6 drops; second time through I alternated destinations until I got to 6 more of each.

Carthage
First Run: 6/10
Second Run: 6/14

Ephesus
First Run: 6/12
Second Run: 6/9

Merida
First Run: 6/9
Second Run: 6/6 (!!!!)

Totals
First Run: 18/31 (58%)
Second Run: 18/29 (62%)
Total: 36/60 (60%)

Fuel: 4,480 (maybe a little extra with weather issues)
Pax: 4,800

Active Bonuses: Sky Captain, Golden Dice, Dice, Golden Wrench, Junior Pilot, Business Class, Comfort Class
Golden Wrench: had one repair out of 60 flights.

Colosseum #5 and #6 going up as we speak.

Added the start to a Stonehenge run to get a head start for next time. Now I'm out of Pax and need to recharge for a while.

Avaricum
First Run: 6/9
Second Run: 6/8
Total: 12/17 (70%)
