G! changed the design for the opera. It used to be based on the lovely Taras Shevchenko National Opera of Ukraine.

It's still a nice building but I need help finding the real life building it's based on

may have a better alternative in reality. I found a building that probably more closely matches the one in the game. What do you think?
This example is located in Poland, in Ostrow Mazowiecka, it is called Jatki and belongs to the municipal cultural center.

The only issue is that the sides of the one in Sydney perfectly match the game building (and was also used to repair train carriages).
(also, I think the image on the wiki is the wrong building -- across the walkway)
This can easily be an instance in which the game building is a mashup of 2 different buildings, which we have seen before.
I will put both on the Wiki when I get a chance.

Agree with you. Front is like the pic in wiki, side matches the building across the road. The Polish building is also great, and has a similar look (well spotted @Eliasz23 !), but the 2 AUS ones, blended, make a better match

For anyone wondering... AC has as new event building (wow!!!)... the National Library (Teresa is busy working on the new page).
In real life, this is the Harold Washington Library Center in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

The newest building added is the Comet Business Hub.
I think the towers on the edges are a great match for towers on the corners of the spaceship in the movie The Abyss.
I think the middle building is probably from a different science fiction movie or TV show.
Please post here if you think you have a match to the middle building.
