Should you launch for a neighbor?

I joined a neighbors launch last night. It has been ready to launch all day. I didn’t start the launch and I am not in 1st place. Again this is a neighbor and he is 1st. Question is, if your neighbor doesn’t pay attention and launch, should you launch for him? Or am I missing something and everyone has to launch from their screen? I just want to get this underway to start the timer so I can get another one going sooner

this is only my 2nd join in so I am not experienced

If it says ready to launch (or something alike) - meaning that all the needed fuel is already loaded - just do it. Each player launches and lands its own rocket.
Sometimes when we "older players" say not to launch a neighbor's rocket without asking, we simply mean " don't put so much fuel that the target is reached"

just out of curiosity: has anyone here tried not to launch the rocket and see what would happen if it's past 24 hours?

You mean, when it’s already ready to launch? I’m pretty sure it doesn’t matter, you can launch and land when you reopen the game.

yes, it's what I meant. And I have the same assumption as you and @VdW9, as long as all the points are fulfilled it's considered launched no matter you need to press the Launch button or not.

@Madge59230 maybe I'd try it with my next green launch

I’m pretty sure it already happened on some of my supports.

i thought it's good as long as you put in enough cos sometimes I just forgot it until hours later
As long as someone has launched the rocket, you will be fine.
I have left my supports for days before with a rocket in progress, without hitting launch. When I come back to it, it launches and instantly completes.

@Tomg I personally only launch for someone if I can't communicate with them, and their points haven't gone up for over 4 hrs, or the time is about to run out. This being because sometimes PCs crash and they are unable to communicate or launch. Also, look on the main page for guides. Captain WH Rollins has some good ones, and there is also one that talks about gifting. Welcome to the forum. I am sending a friend request from our 2nd site, Azure.
