iOS iOS 9 incompatibility with AC????

Just noticed a message (new to me) when visiting some of my neighbours.
Got message that 'neighbours cannot be visited probably because of old software' (free translation from Dutch)

IOS 9.0.1 on i-Pad4

Checked the message again and correct the previous translation:
It says 'You cannot visit this neighbour. His/her version of the game could probably be outdated'
As far as I could check it happens to some but not all IOS players.

Today was the first time I noticed while I have updated to IOS9.0.1 two days ago.
I did visit neighbours yesterday without a glitch.

As @Chloe11111 noted she runs latest AC version. My game is also updated to the latest version.

I have had the same problems visiting neighbors tonight. I am on the latest version of AC, but I have not updated to iOS 9 on any of my games yet.

I have a game on an iPad and an iPhone, both with the latest Airport City updates, and both on iOS 9.0.1. Neither can visit each other as neighbors. Also, they cannot seem to help each other with launches either.

So I have been using my sleuthing skills. I can't visit iOS neighbours at all. @Uncle Mans @greensmith and others. I can visit all android neighbours. This is likely and apple problem and not an iOS problem but I hope the problem gets resolved quick.

FYI - None NONE of my devices have been upgraded (downgraded???) to iOS9. Apple is throwing out far too many changes for me to trust them. Looks like the bad guys have finally caught up to them.

Mine either. AC up to date but that's it. I'm sure most forum users with iOS did not update after Ramy's issue

I updated to iOS 9 (and iOS 9.0.1) on my iPad 3 and iPhone 6+ with no problems. (Those are my AC support games.) I have not yet updated on my iPad Air Waverly huff main game.
By the way, I made an iCloud backup on those two devices just in case I needed to restore the previous OS. Not necessary. I will do the same with my iPad Air when the time is right.

As it concerns visiting neighbours and seems independant of user-versions (AC and iOS) it could be a G! server issue?

@greensmith Couldn't agree more. I nowadays also back-up before big iOS or AC updates. Actually my main reason is that AC is running on my i-Pad. Have not experienced problems with any other apps after back-ups.

Is somebody from G! tuning in this forum? Or is their a notice board where they report current bugs they are working on?

Tom, I have only restored an iCloud back up to a new iPad once. I can't remember if it let you choose out of different back ups or does it force you to restore from you most recent back up. I should have a back up when I was on iOS8. If it gave that option then I could date back to when the problem happened, and pick the back up that preceded the iOS 9 update. Doesn't let you choose between different back ups? @greensmith

I believe it takes the latest. I even believe the system only stores one copy which replaces the older copy.
Do you back up in the cloud or on your device through i-tunes?

Go the apple support pages and look for 'restore i-pad'. It gives you somes hints.

According to the Apple site listed above, it gives you a choice of backups to restore:

The only way to restore from an iCloud backup is through the Setup Assistant. To get to the Setup Assistant on a device you already set up, you'll need to erase all the content on your device and set it up again.

1. Turn on your device. You should see a Hello screen.
2. Follow steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. Join a Wi-Fi network and follow steps until you see the Set Up Device screen.
3. Tap Restore from an iCloud Backup. Then sign in to iCloud.
4. Choose a backup. Look at the date and size of each and pick the most relevant. After you choose a backup, the transfer starts.
5. If you've purchased iTunes or App Store content using multiple Apple IDs, you'll be asked to sign in to each. If you can’t remember a password, you can tap Skip this Step and enter it later.
6. Stay connected. If you disconnect from Wi-Fi before the process completes, the restore process pauses until you reconnect. Give the process time to finish. Restoring from a backup can take a while, depending on the size of the backup and the network speed.

Is it happen when you visit android users too?

For me, whether I am playing my android game or IOS game, I get the message only when visiting IOS games. I can visit any android game from either of my games.

@greensmith @Froggies Paradise Tom & Paul, OK... so i did take a leap of faith and reset my device. To my surprise, i had a laundry list of more than 50 back ups dating back to july to choose from. I found the closest backup to the day i updated to iOS9. I am currently awaiting the restore. Will report back once done and in the clear.
