You are right , it was the Washington monument.

So one of the reward was a 3x3 building, my bad !

How has the drop rates for visiting neighbors gift shops been? I have not gotten one drop in all of my neighbor visits on my main game yet!!! Actually, I haven't gotten a drop from one of my own gift shops either!!!

I am getting pretty good drop rates from my own shops (every 15 minutes), less so from visiting neighbors' (once a day).

I need one horseshoe from the guest planes drop, and then can complete. Do the gift shops still drop items for visitors if you (the host that is) have completed the event? Because I would really like to focus on collecting some gold tokens for the bank/mint possible sale...

Earlier posts (see @greensmith) suggest that when you close out your quest, your neighbors won't be able to collect from your shops, but I think that players will have more luck finishing that part of the quest if they can get gift shops into their own cities. So maybe give it a couple days?
