I wonder what is the strategy with fuel if you want to do a run like this. We are limited to 100 boxes each and also 100 bars each. If I count all, I cannot see how to get to 300.000 fuel. Do you stack up from all f20 gifts @Barkmi4 (Mike) ?
@Barkmi4 (Mike) I'm also curious about the motive, as after 36 drops, I wouldn't see any reason to keep flying to Delphi

But what about the fuel missed from accumulation by not having the fuel bar full? Do you not rely on that at all?
I was playing for couple of months that way, but then I purchased Gold sub, so it seems like a big waste for me. Once it is over, I will play like this again. I didn´t mind that missed fuel as I could easily replace it with gifts.

Sorry - Chests, to be precise Large Bronze Chests. Each is one gold and 6 silver, right?
Right, but I guess I wouldnt fly the jumbos to get gold tokens. I would fly the owls and hawks...maybe up to ravens to get more pax in the process. @Barkmi4 (Mike) may have chosen jumbos to keep his weekly pax high.
Also, there are other jumbo maps that he could have flown to get those items, but maybe he also already has those adventure buildings

Of course I miss that. However since the 100 limit, and more recently the loss of event spyglass, we all have decisions to make right? Waste fuel/time flying for the crest drops, or buy spyglass weekly at 9 greens a pop, or suffer the lower drop rate?
Its that question that’s more relevant to the experienced player, what is hardest to come by? Fuel? Greens? Passengers?

I did a comparison here;
https://www.airportcitygame.com/threads/the-best-method-of-collecting-gold-tokens.29019/post-487787
And actually, for those that need tokens (coughcbmscough), running Aztec legacy vs completing sands of time will net pretty much exactly the same number of tokens vs fuel used. The main difference is passenger numbers carried, sky captains, and the commitment you are willing to give (I.e. if you give up chasing sands of time, you’ve lost a lot).
I did the tests with different bonus on my supports, and gathered reasonable data. Enough to convince myself bonuses stack. Work out the fuel cost with different bonus combinations running, and decide which bonuses (if any) are worth buying.

So earlier this year I made some choices about my game. I would like max land city side, and needed around 12000 greens to do that. There are other things I’d like too, planetariums etc. Now I don’t really have the money to buy them all, so I worked out how many tokens I need to ‘convert‘ (cough2casinoscough) into greens. So how do you get tokens? Red launches, top of rankings and adventure flights. I don’t have the prep to gain via launches, and rankings is a risky game. So I did the math. 1 restart at 75 gold = 270 greens (if you are really anal). Working it out I came up with a figure of around 3600 gold needed. So I decided to try and complete sands of time 450 times. (450 x 5) + (450 x 3) = 3600. As a bonus, I can run Sky Capt daily for a long time.

The next problem, obviously, is fuel. So do the math, work out how many trading partners you need. At 270 greens a month each, its not quick. 150 gold tokens a month to keep them going back to back. 126,000 fuel a month with D, SC & SG or 100,800 with D, GD, SC, SG.
The loss of spyglass on tap was a kick.
So what’s the long pole? Loosing 9 greens weekly on SG, or loosing a bit of excess fuel from regeneration? As long as I can cover my needs.... Using my process as described, there is no quick way to recover the ‘lost’ 9 greens weekly. It will take around 24 months back to back to earn enough to hit full expansion without sinking 470 greens a year on SG. Whereas so long as I can make sure I’ve ~25,000 (average) fuel a week free to maintain this, I’m better off long term.

Jumbos this week was precisely for the passenger count.
The other adventure destinations, upto and including giants, are 3 starred now.

I can understand that people are still mad that newer players (including me) didn´t have the opportunity to get the wedontsaythename buildings, but it takes a lot of work to operate them. I am pretty sure many many people will not have the will to do what you are doing.
I invest so much time and money in the game and am nowhere near the progress like you are. But as you said, everyone can play on their own pace and objectives.
I find it funny and sad at the same time, that I said to myself at least three times - This is it. I don´t need more land. And few weeks later... We all know the drill. :)

Stored in the fuel bar for weeks and weeks.....
After spyglass went from the event store, I stopped map running every week and started saving fuel instead.

I am still a newbie to the game it seems... :)
How do you do that? Just by landing guest planes? And how do you run your fleet then? Only way I can think of is to use the fuel from gifts to keep the fleet in the air and collecting the drops from guest planes in the fuel bar. Is that the way it works?

I can understand. I kick myself often that I didn’t get a M on this game. For the same token cost, I could have substantially more greens, and require restarts less often. But on the other hand, to those that don’t have the buildings they seem like a luxury. The reality is, it is f hard work to keep them churning. And unless you make the effort, it doesn’t ‘just happen’ as people may think. I‘m also aching for more Police Stations, and a RH upgrade. They all eat into that same pot.
Sometimes I find myself wishing I didn’t have them for that reason. Just commit to spending say £30 a month for 330 greens, and progress those things without the stress (and substantial boredom) that comes with running the same destinations over and over... but alas, I find myself wishing I had a M more.
All we can do is wait and see.... I keep gold aside just incase..... but I’m not holding my breath.

Fly less, basically. Take gifts into the bar, empty warehouse and just wait and wait and wait until it’s enough. If you are flying too, you need to make sure you have more gifts/fuel coming in than you are using daily.

So you don't have to contribute PAX to an alliance, right? And you can play very relaxed 'cause you have all the PAX buildings, VCs and infrastructure in place...
This seems to me like some kind of "Senior Level Game Style" - lots of experience, only doing things you like to do 😂

It’s about finding an alliance that suits your needs/playing style. We are top 50 usually, but this week 1st
We can do that as we play casually most of the time, and don’t push for the highest position every week.

I applaud your thought process, and clearly you've used your available resources to achieve your goal. I can't protest your approach as clearly it works better for you. Well played.
Our situations are definitely different, as I do not have any CBM buildings (nor any real desire for them anymore to be honest). I guess I can't leave "free fuel" on the table, so I rely on regeneration, fuel additive, and the secret faucet bonuses to give me that boost while saving the rest for weekly flights (from fuel rings).
I also think our goals differ quite a bit, as I no longer care about land expansion. Getting the S3s for my fleet is my last major objective I have...unless they add more to the game.

And this is exactly why I dont desire them. Its a lot of work restarting them, and I'm not sure it's worth it. I think that's why I've also stopped caring about expansion. At our levels, coin buildings are useless, so that leaves room for pax and item buildings. With auto collect contracts, you don't need nearly as much pax buildings as you used to, and the item buildings basically just give you another item to complete a collection that you don't even really need to collect anymore. In my opinion, expansion nowadays really is just for show, which is fine...nothing wrong with it....but at our level, it really isn't needed because we're just hanging out at lv 80 anyway 😅

I do tend to make use of ‘free fuel’ (I.e. regeneration) when I can. I go through spells of saving/generation, it’s a case of making the best of the situation to meet my goals. Prior to the event/SG change, I didn’t really save in my bar at all. I still begrudgingly do it now.
When I downloaded this game initially, I did it as a sim city alternative. The goal was to build a nice city, the rest was just a means to that end. Far less so now (have you seen the mess I’m in? 😂 ). But the want for land is to fulfil that desire.

Ideally, I would like 6 police stations (because I find collection pax a painful task). But you are right, you don’t need that many passenger buildings unless you are doing a really mad run. Even then, you can get around it with bonus and bonus buildings. Effort though. A 6 tap collect all is my dream

The one thing the years of playing this has finally taught me, is get ahead while you can. That’s what the likes of AJ, Mo, Pinok and darekk have done. When these ‘features’ like GD drops affecting planetariums happen, unlimited bonus chests and the like come along, 6+ buildings, they make the most of it. They inevitably have a load of gold tokens and greens available to get the jump on the next step...

Agree 100%. I think that's something a lot of vets did prior to 7.0 by saving up a lot of fuel. It makes it easier to continue the old style of play. However, nothing wrong with the new style, and even with the limit, I very much enjoy the gameplay. We've already talked extensively about the need for new horizons with this game, so wont get into that here.
