New Land Expansion on the horizon....?

I see GI are canvassing the below through Facebook. Not sure if this is just a case of GI fishing for new clientele on FB or whether they have indeed cracked/written the code to finally allow further airside expansion.

Will be interesting to see how this materialises, if at all! (we can only hope they test it throughly for bugs beforehand ;)

I liked and commented as well. I've been writing comments on the in-game Forum for the past year about how much real money GI would make if they made more land available for greenies. Maybe they figured out how to rewrite the code to allow this ... but I'm not holding my breath.
Cheers,
Tom

They need to increase the population max for crying out loud so we're not forced to demolish our cities or be stuck with giant 3x3 monuments just to boost our population. I can't even build anything new on my games because of this.

Had GI fixed the population bug in commercial buildings when it first happened instead of letting people build massive cities filling the area to the brim only to be forced to remove most of it to complete the special events. That's a large part of why i barely play this game anymore. On my Android game, OBD, I can't even make the amount of coins to upgrade any of my main buildings past lvl 7.

An easy solution is to allow monuments, etc. (i.e .Alien Legacy, Crop Circles...) to be placed on Airport side. Just like Laundry was initially for the city side, the Alien Legacy for example could be placed on airport side just like Space Monument and Rocket Garden. Buildings related to space and flying (i.e. Flight School, Astronaut Academy, Planetarium, etc.) should be allowed to be placed on airport side. That should be a minor issue for GI.

I don't have much space on airport side either. The 8 Rocket Gardens I have take up a lot of my space on city side.

On the airport side however, you have options such as trading power producing buildings (i.e. replacing 5 coal stations with a tesla plant), reducing the number of your runways, etc.). Based on my city, I could for example save 10x Alien Legacies, Astronaut Academy, Planetarium, Flight School, UFO Monument, 4x Crop Circles, and if possible a few other 2x2 items such as Flight Monument, etc. That's almost 20 2x2 pieces, i.e. 400 single squares. Not bad.

Furthermore, for people like myself who play for the buildings mostly rather than the stars and/or flight/space races, this would enable us to keep our prizes/rewards from various quests and at the same time spend money on buying mystery buildings, or adventure quests which require the 3x3 land.

Another thing GI could do is also enable the use of a warehouse for NON-purchased buildings. There you could store buildings which you either won through a quest, or by completing collections, while at the same time build it or store each building back and forth as many times as you need. This essentially "gives" you the building as you earned it by succeeding in a quest/collection, and at the same time allows you to selectively and strategically build buildings necessary for you and your neighbors to complete quests. For example, during the university quest, I could store my ancient greek temples or aztec pyramids and build a few Universities. Then, once the quest is completed, I could selectively re-build my temples and pyramids, and allow my city to grow and shrink based on my game needs.

Right now I have no motivation to help lower level neighbors by building necessary buildings such as universities for example, because I do not want to sacrifice my quest rewards. Not only that, I am in no hurry to complete the western europe adventure either, as I don't have the space for the reward, therefore I am not really going to spend greenies (or tokens for example).

I think GI should simply listen to their customers, and enable high-level players to expand their cities (and airport side that is). I am gradually loosing my daily interest in the game, as I am basically storing both greenies and fuel/passengers for when I can re-build again. I am sure a lot of players are at the same level I am and unless GI decides that Airport City is not going to be supported anymore, then they need to do something about it. At this point, the only new thing they can do is expansion. I am tired of these adventure quests (they've been adding one each month lately) not because I don't like them, but because the reward is moot.

Well, I am completing the quests but I can't build the rewards. No more city space. I don't really want to sell anymore buildings whether residential or commercial. I can't get enough passengers as it is now that I am flying 8 Giants and I need lots of coins for the level 9 buildings and of course stock up just in case I need to sell the Giants and have to purchase them again in the future.

This is exactly my point. I understand that this is a strategy game and managing your resources is part of it, but if the game is reaching a point where your rewards cannot be enjoyed essentially, then there's no point in more "strategic" management for completing quests successfully and getting the rewards.

Hi - Note to all -
I have been playing since August 2012 - I do not put as much time into the game as many do !!! At one time I was "into" the game and actually spent some real $$$$ to purchase some Greenies. I, along with many other suffered through the numerous "Issues" ie Username that GI failed to correct for almost a year. Then GI created an issue that actually allowed player to get "Free" greenies. When they (GI) discovered their problem - they #1 fixed it #2 they suspended the "Gifting" ability for many of those who got the "Free" greenies. (Note: I lost several great neighbors) When these unfortunate player complained and stated that they believe that this was "Perhaps" part of the game - remember there are no written rules - GI ignored them! To date there are still players out there with their "Main" game suspended from gifting - almost 2 years after the issue !!!!
My POINT - GI created this game to make money - and increasing the size of the "Land" is not a money maker for them. Take note - when you get a "NEW" building from flying or a Quest - your must decide whether to build it or not. Since these are "Free" items there is no money for GI. Just my thoughts - Bill

But wouldn't offering more land means more money for them since they cost greenies, after all?

I have a feeling that if they do create new land expansions, it will cost gold & solver tokens.

They've given so many greens away (casinos, banks & mints) that they are going to have a hard time getting players to spend more cash on greenies.

It should be noted that IOS players have not received "Free" greenies for more than a year ! It had something to do with the agreement between AC and Apple.
So, only android can cash in on the weekly code etc.

Sure - they could get 20 Greenies for 2 plots - and players could add more buildings, spending Gold, which advanced players have plenty. But in case you have not realized this - MAPS and BONUSES are the big money makers. That's why Duke's Airship Store is coming more frequently. Sure you can get a fee items for GOLD but in order to get the more effective items it will cost Greenies.
When you completed the Map Quest - you never get greenies but you do get God and perhaps another building. And depending upon what building you get you are forced to make a decision to either leave it in the warehouse or make room for it. So you can see that they control the game by having the more advanced players spend greenies because Gold would't get then the next Star.
