G! Desktop platform NOT receiving updates

The G! Desktop platform has not received the latest update and is not expected to receive further updates in the foreseeable future. This platform does not have events now.

I've noticed it too. On the Android system, when you enter the Windows Store, it's already updated to version 8.42, featuring a Halloween event
The GI version failed to update, so I redownloaded it and realized it was still 8.41
GI has updated the time requirements for daily tasks during the event period. I will abandon completing event tasks and only focus on fulfilling flight destinations during the event

I got it from Game Insight, who posted the information on Facebook and Discord as Announcements.

I'm on the server version (persuaded to get a blimp and a casino), just got an update in 40 parts, but no event and showing 8.41.01...

only need 30 more cash to upgrade my fuel station, so might move if need be after that... got 1000 cash for way less than store I suppose....

Exactly the same here!!! Ended up with 2 versions last time something like this happened - the dektop and server versions, and all the weekly codes failed. Hoping it fixes as dont want to reinstall.

Their track record through the years made me immediately question the decision to do this. So I stuck with windows store version.
Luckily I had a mint so dangling a casino did not make me budge. The blimp was fuel haven't collected fuel since update to version 7.
I hope they get their act together .....but again the track record.

I have the GI version, I tried (temporarily?) switching to the web version. But the new event system with three-hour waiting periods has led me to decide to skip these events en masse.
And I will carefully consider whether to give this game any more time.

the latest version 8.42.01 is not available on GI platform (the one downloaded from the GI website). We strongly advice switching to another platform for now": this was posted on FB "Due to TECHNICLE issues and another platform for NOW. that says it's a temporary issue..??

I was told it is "for the foreseeable future". Furthermore, they are encouraging players to switch to a different platform. I am interpreting "foreseeable future" as a very long time, if not indefinitely.

You can still play on the downloaded version from the Microsoft Store. If you need help migrating your game, contact game support.

mine just had a 2 part update, but just an exclamation mark that takes you to windows store.....

I had a look at the apps on my pc, there were two versions of Airport City installed, 1) Airport City G! 8.41.01, and 2) Airport City 8.42.01, I updated the game to the current version yesterday but because I didn't remove/uninstall the old version, it reverted back to it when I relaunched the game. I have since removed it so it can't do that again. Everything seems to be working now except for the fact it wiped my weekend bonus code off and I can't reclaim it.

My computer crashed while I was playing the game in Microsoft Store...

Reinstall the soft from Microsoft Store, but I still can't open the after two time.
Does anyone have same problem???

Still use GI platform to play airport city.

If there are new events coming: for me no reason to switch from GI Desktop version away. Btw: On some of my support accounts The GI Desktop version got on Thursday - after the event started - a delayed event. But it was possible to make some of the tasks. The surprising thing was then on Friday: no event there and the stupid message from GI. Professional work will be something different. Not knew - already well-known. ANother info: the accounts running still on Windows 10 (yeah thanks to the shit Microsoft programmers: some computers cannot be updated to Windows 11 :-( ) there was never the last event. That happened only on Windows 11 - in my case: a different Laptop.
Am I happy? NOT at all. But: I have only four destinations open (while the star calculations from GI has also a problem and does not follow laws of Mathematics - but that is GI :-D ). For the future: no new destinations will lead to a longer break from the game.

No, but if you update your game to the server version (as per the game instructions that came through yesterday), and remove the Airport City G! 8.41.01 app off of the pc, then you are capable of getting the Dark Skies event. Just don't claim the weekend bonus code first as the update will wipe it off the computer and you won't be able to reclaim it.
