There is a place where you can ask and get answers from G! directly. As has been mentioned, this is a fan forum not run by the company. The facebook page IS run by the company. Here, you will get the best answer people can give based on their knowledge of playing (rather than designing) the game.
Thanks for the advice. I have posted several queries to GI and have not received clear and definitive answers to my queries and if so, I receive out of this world answers. I am just confused on how the game plays. I already mentioned in my previous comments on high inventory items of old players and somebody told me that the new game scheme treats all old and new players imposing item limits. And here we are with old players updating their old accounts and still retaining their high inventories. What about us - new players where we are limited to the game limits? In this scenario, old players will have an unfair advantage. Again, my apologies if I hit a raw nerve to some of the old members. Old members surely updated their games several times since say 2018. Am I correct to assume that updating the game would not impose the 100 item limit ( or that the game does not reduce their items to 100 if they previously go beyond 100)? Definitely, old members will have a say on this issue.

Thanks again and again my apologies if my comments were interpreted as too aggressive.

While I am not an old player regarding your question, I still can answer them: also “old“ players have the limit of 100 items now, but they could keep everything they had before the limit was introduced (otherwise I believe many had quitted with the introduction and would have been even more unfair to them). They just can‘t add anything new on Top of that now, so they are now (slowly) burning down their resources from the old times maybe until a point when they fall under 100, from that point they are on the same level as everyone else then.

I got this. And it would also go the other way around, new players will be disadvantaged as the old game versions had placed the old players in a "glut" of items that competing with them will be for a nought as new players cannot go beyond the new 100 item limit. If you think that old players would have quit/complained if GI were to impose and reduce their inventories to 100, how would new players like us react? Would we also deem it fair play if somebody still has those big numbers in their inventories while we are sauntering on these 100 item limits? If these new players are not what we call "disadvantaged", I don't know what is the proper term for this. The new players joining an event will not have the incentive of joining the events since they can be easily trumped when these old players join these? Seems like the game has favored a lot the "Old Boys Club". Thanks anyway for pointing this out. Seems apparently, it is the new player's fault for being in the game so late and GI should have a fair advice before installing the game that these facts exist.

Funny thing about this is that it is like a logical representation of the real world economy. The poor gets poorer while the rich gets richer. And the rich club has always the say on how the economy works. What an irony. As far as the GI would possibly say - It is what it is.

Sure it's an advantage. But it's not the players' fault. It's G!'s fault for imposing this limit which impacts new players much more than old players. This has been raised as a concern many many times.

As for how to deal with it ... what if those long-time players spent tons of greenies to upgrade all their industries to get 10s of thousands of items in their warehouse. How should G! deal with that? Do you think G! should take away all the inventory the long-time players paid dearly for? That wouldn't be fair. These players paid for and earned their inventory. It is also not fair to them that they have essentially worthless upgraded buildings with all the production slots open that can't produce anything. If I were them, I would rather G! remove the extra production slots and give back the 2800 greens for upgrading 6 pharma labs, the 2160 greens for the extra slots on the furniture factory, 1440 for the slots on sweets factory, the 840 greens for slots on the laundry and the 420 greens for slots on the flight catering facilities. I've only been playing just over a year and even I don't collect often from those production buildings. So there is no sense spending greenies to upgrade them.

Even if it weren't for the inventory level change that G! imposed, long-time players would still have an advantage over you. That's life. People who have been playing this game for 9 years will naturally have an advantage whether G! made a mistake or not.

This is not a skills game like football, golf or even some video games that rely on reflexes. This is a strategy game. When you have been playing for years and years and years, you can come close to the masters.

This is not the fight to pick. It's not the long time players that are ruining the game for newbies. They are the ones helping. It's the cheaters. Get on G!'s case about dealing with cheaters. That's a better use of energy.

Got your point on the dilemma that old players with so much inventory items in them. But looking at the point f view of new players even if they have enough money to spend on resources/items - they are accorded the limit. Suffice it to say that even if you have the money to spend on items/resource and if you are a new player, you cannot beat those with big inventories in an event. It seems this is not a matter of years playing as you have pointed out but on the amount you can spend on items (I guess). Without any limit, any newbie could get the same amount of items ( and become masters) if he has the money to dispense with in a very short time.

I really do not know why GI imposed a limit on the items in the first place.

None of us know why. The only thing we can do is to continue to pressure G! to remove the limit - or even raise it to 1000 which would give newer players a better chance.

At the same time, is it really the long-time honest players that are winning every contest? Or is it people who are cheating the system?

Hoping that this will be increased sooner so that we can have a level playing field. Thanks for the advice.

Seems like GI is in a tough situation here on how to attract new players but still maintain the current players in the game.

But for the rankings the change last year made this better for newer players, as you are now in a league with players on the same level. So the point with the +100 items players only applies when you reach level 71, as nearly everyone of the olders will be level 80 for a long time.

Sorry but I do not understand this statement.

He was saying your original comment was about the rankings in the event competition. But the competition leagues are broken up by level.
Ok Thanks. What could he mean by 100+ items? So anybody with level 71 and up could have 100+ items?

No,, it meant that unless you are level 71 and above you aren't in the same league during the events as someone who may or may not still have more than 100 items from years ago.

And back to the original concern of the 271 flights (or whatever it was) it honestly isn't that hard to do even if you only have 100 items. As already stated this is a game of strategy which would include resource management.

No, for the event competition, level 71 through level 80 are grouped into the same league. Level 61 through 70 are grouped - level 51 through 60 ... ... ...

You can ONLY have more than 100 items if you had them before the new format. And even then, they can't continue to increase inventory. Nothing gets added f they are already over 100. And once they get below 100 of any item, they can't go back above 100.

This means, they may have flight catering facilities (and lots of other industry buildings) that they can't collect anything from - and they haven't been able to for years. But they are consuming flight catering (and other items) that they can't replenish. Eventually, their stock will drop below 100 for items and they will be on the same playing field as the rest of us. Well not really - because they still have way more experience than we do and it's that experience that gives them the advantage.

You are making it hard on the 100+ items issue do you? I do not have issue when you have a limit of 100 items and you are able to maintain the points. What we are discussing are those that have 100+ items before.

Agreed. 271 flights that require landing lamps is easy. Gifted fuel and landing lamps plus flying to Turkish Coast for more LL ... not hard at all. Even as a lower level player
