You should have the post office quest unless their is an issue with your game, I received the quest even though I am at a lower level 28.

I checked for updates but nothing. I restarted my game many times but nothing.
Finally, I restarted my computer, opened AC and there it was.

Tom updates are applied automatically and your computer should restart after the update. Check your hibernation settings if your computer does not shut off properly overnight, you may not get all your updates properly installed.

I usually get my updates from the Windows Store icon on my Windows 8 Start Menu. It indicates when updates are available and I click on them to install. No updates were indicated for AC. I don't do automatic updates; I prefer manual. I always check this forum after an AC update to see if it's more buggy or less buggy than the previous version.
I don't hibernate. I'm one of these people who leave their computer on all the time and just turn off the displays when sleeping.

Hi all - thanks for all the good info about the post office quest. I might try to complete the quest now that I understand it, but I bet I won't get it done in time.

I also do manual updates but certain windows apps of which AC game is one does not give us the option of doing it manually.

At least once month or so, you need to power down your computer to flush the memory properly as certain deletions or additions are done after power down and up.

I too just turn off the display but from what I read and benn advised by others in the industry a periodic power down is necessary to keep the computer in good shape.

In Windows 8 and more recent Windows versions, shut down is actually a modified version of hibernate. Best to restart the computer.

NO! When I clicked once or twice they just evaporated with no other indication of it having any other effect or tally! I thought maybe I needed the knife first to start making things happen.
That's what I mean by figuring it out as you go. If it wasn't for my friends I would still be at level 15.
