Not happy with latest Quest

I don't ever recall being required to participate in one of the Quests but with the increases in fuel needed and the breaking up of roadways - it seems we have little choice about this one. I was going to play it anyway but I am still very concerned about how much damage is going to be done to our cities before we complete the request. I am almost tempted to sit this one out and not play the game until it is over - I presume then that things will return to normal - or will they??

I cant seem to work out how to get half the items and am already devoting half my collecting time to visiting neighbours woods - this is enabling me (just) to fly all my aircraft to the quest destination but not all that much is dropping from flights.

How for example does one get jackhammers to attack your volcano - does it mean I will have to visit neighbours volcanos as well? If anyone has worked out a sensible strategy for this quest then please share it as I for one am swimming around in the dark!

To get drops from the volcano first complete the Volcanologist Equipment collection, then you can biuld the Institute of Volcanology. The jack hammer will drop seldom, you can collect every 20 mins , and you can visit the volcano every 1 hr after using the hammer

thanks - just after I asked I acquired my first institute of volcanology and after a few collections I have received one jackhammer - perhaps when I have collected enough for a second institute I will get a better supply. Its a slow, sometimes frustrating process!

To get jackhammers, it helped me that i click slow on institutes. First on one, after it drop jackhammer, on next one, and so on.
At the beginning i got 6 of them always, now i am getting from 2-5 every time.

Yep it's a frustrating quest especially with trees and non-filter flights almost never dropping items even with Spyglass... volcano flights gave a lot more and the volcano dropped 5 items already in 24h. Hope the next update fix the issue with drops (i believe something is bugged).

What I find interesting is that I am running the same flights with the same bonuses on both of my games. On game 1 I have 6 institutes and I finished 3 gates of hell. On game 2, I have only 1 institute and only 1 of 3 of gates of hell. Talk about random.
