Aztec pyramid flights

OK, I'm about to fly for pyramids I've been planning this run for 2 months now and yes I think I've reached my thinking & planning ceiling.

Just about now it is the right time for anyone to add their 2 cents worth of information. Any advice will do, so please share.

Dice and sky captain should give plenty of map drops.

try one map first and gauge it from there. you wouldn't want to waste maps because you don't have enough passengers or fuel. personally I run one map until I get 36 drops then move on. I just ran 2 maps for ancient Rome, getting 36 and 37 drops for around 20,000 units of fuel.

edit: if your talking about excavation maps, then fly them all with Dice active.

You must have tons of fuel. Are you going after all 6 pyramids, or just 1? Doing all 5 maps for all 6 pyramids is a tall order for one day. Even with a golden dice, those drop rates are going to make it nearly impossible

I tried it today without dice/skycaptain - just to try it the very first time

55 flights to Chichen Itza for 6 drops
25 to Machu Picchu for 6 drops
so ~5k fuel for 2 maps to get drops for 1 pyramid

I guess Im satisfied with the outcome - maybe when I have the other 3 maps Ill try it with a dice to compare it

Dice is for excavation maps, for actual map flights golden dice is always the best choice. I did these flights years ago but I believe the drops were made worse at some point but without any bonuses those drops don't seem too bad. I know with golden dice I easily got all six pyramids within the 100 or so flights it took for three stars.

It was a good drop before thats true but last year after the big update when all connecting windows, android, IOS the drop was poor.
As you said best of all the golden dice but i did not get the 6 buildings in 100 flights with golden dice later i will come back to continue the adventure maps and complete the 6 buildings of all.
You and others players start AC in golden age

Your drop rate must be incredibly good. Did not get anywhere as much drops for 100 flights.

Dont do that all the maps in one day its a risk maybe you will spend all what you have and get some.
Always start with 1 or 2 maps to check the drop with the bonus you use.
The best bonus always as other members agree is the golden dice then the sky captain.
Dont active active dice and golden dice and sky captain in one time.
Start sending the planes and then active the bonuses
Lucky Cap if you need experience.
Golden Key
Family Ticket
Robot Loader
Spirit of Adventure if you have it
Matryoshka Doll before you start sending flight active this bonus and wait to for all your resident buildings ready to drop passengers it will help you.
Alarm Clock keep it ready to active when you spend all your passengers and you need 4 to 6 of this bounus.
Business class always with any maps.
You should do your calculate that you have enough fuel and speed fuel too and passengers and spare parts items ... etc

Having done this just last night I can suggest a couple things

1. You will burn through passengers like crazy to the Jet destinations. If you don’t have an Alarm Clock or two then temper your expectations because you will run out of passengers once you get to jets
2. Family Ticket and Golden key bonuses are your friend. Fuel is important but since you are in rings the passengers will be kore important. Planes on these runs also break down like crazy without the Golden key

I’ve generally gone for 12 of each item so I can get two pyramids at a time. This is partly because I don’t have more than a couple hours to run maps at a time but also because you’ll burn 30-35k worth of fuel just to get that much even with bonuses.

So using both doesn't make drops 250% more likely? That's a shame.

I don't have a Golden Key, but on the description in the FAQ it says:
Action Time: 4 hours
Chance of a plane breakdown: –90%
Number of Flights: 20

Does that mean that it stops working after the 20th flight has been launched/landed?

I did it last week. Lots of fuel. As already said dice for mesoamerica. Golden dice once you have some destination maps. Start from scratch and 6 pyramids is impossible! Start with dice and maps from Duke till you get 2 or 3 maps for each destination. Thats all turboprop and a bit lighter of fuel and passengers; When you have at least 2 maps for each destination I would suggest destination by destination for the simple reason nothing much drops before you have 1 star, then i have noticed it gets more frequent the more you fly to the same destination. I have 2 pyramids but in the warehouse have all I need for the other destinations except Quetzalcoatl which I will do soon and run until I get all the drops I need.
For info my figures were, with 1 map Tollan 26 drops 83 flights (1 in 3.2), then I did 28 flights to Machu Pichu for 8 drops. (again 3.2). But it was destination by destination and much better than the figures I put on another post which were also good but not 1 in 3. I only had golden dice and business class running. Ran out of fuel at the end!

What happens when you activate them simultaneously?

If you are flying for maps -- only have dice active....
If you are flying the map destinations - only Gold Dice and maybe sky capt.... NO DICE - it can lower the drops!

For 1 map destination expect to do 125-150 flights to get the 36 drops needed for 6. (Could be more, could be less...but that's about what my average was last year on pyramids ... and what i've flown of the rome destinations this year!

I wouldn't think of trying them all in a day! Takes a couple of hours to do 100 flights unless you are using a ton of planes for it!
You don't want to waste your maps! They are too hard to get now days.

Lots of fuel, a family ticket, and gold key are what you need!

Also - Dont forget to stock up on weather items ... I got hit with many weather issues needing an item when I flew last week!!!
