I don't know how many players read this discussion but I'll write this anyway.
I had some doubts about the new levels and airport buildings when I first looked into it.
I just went through all my collections and used the bonus to get 30% more experience for everything and now I am at level 81.
Here is my opinion after thinking about it for a few hours:

I have the coins to buy a terminal but nothing else. What good is it even if I had all 360 required items?
The default terminal capacity was a joke and the new update makes me laugh even harder.
And then there is the new control tower. Another joke for all the same reasons.
What I am trying to say here is the new update doesn't convince me to keep playing AC, I used to enjoy it a lot more. (I am tired of all the old events).

I'm not throwing in the towel just yet, but this update did nothing for me since it would take me a year or so just to get all the new toys working.
It took me years to get this far but there were things to keep me interested.

The least GI could do is include some new activities to go along with the new levels, beside just building a bigger airport.

I'm done bitching for now and I'm still visiting the burial vaults

I purchased the terminal but have no idea how many years it will take to get the 360 items to complete construction with a very seldom drop rate from condor flights. Has anyone calculated an approximate number total flights needed?

Hi old friend! Yes, the item requirements for the new terminal and control tower require flying to destinations that many older players have already 3-starred.
But this is the first significant update to the game in years. It means they are listening to players. And I am really hopeful that the new levels mean there will be new destinations and events.

One person flew with all bonuses. Got 65% drop rate for the items needed for T13.

Needing 90 of each…and requiring a VR for every flight…just to have a “ seldom” chance for one of those 90 items needed…stinks.

I'm going to focus long term on the user guides, my game has always been secondary. As for the new Control Tower and Terminal upgrade, and all the items required and the overpriced tag for both buildings, I can live without them. I do not need to increase my fleet of airplanes. I can also live without game level 81.

I don't find collecting those items daunting. I can chip away at them when I have gaps in my normal flying. I'm looking at Giants right now, and each flight is really three. One to Caracas to get an RDF, one to Helsinki to get an Attitude Indicator, and then finally to the actual destination of Jerusalem, etc. Only 1000 flights to get 3 stars on a weekly, so that's what 3000 flights per destination, with 5 destinations. Patience...

The word drops 'Seldom' can be replaced by the word drops 'Rarely' with regards to items required for the construction of buildings and structures.
