I had this problem earlier today and I thought it was something on me, but as it turns out more people have this problem.

It looks like this: You can't answer any thread, you can't like posts, you can't do anything. If you are paying close attention, you may notice tiny button about email problem and see the message that forum had some problems sending emails to you and this somehow is a reason to block your forum account.

To solve it you must go to your contact details : https://www.airportcitygame.com/account/contact-details and change your email to a different one. Watch out for the password. Then, a confirmation email will be send to the new mailbox, you have to open it and click the link. This will get your account unblocked. The email doesn't need to be a really different one, it just has to look different. Some mail services offer aliases. On gmail there is this feature with ignoring dots (.). So you can just change the mail from you@gmail.com into y.ou@gmail.com because they are same adressess to gmail, but forum will be tricked. You can also use entirely different email, of course.

After you successfully change your email, receive new mail and click the activation link. This will get your account unblocked.

This is nothing you did wrong, it's forum going haywire.

To admin: please, turn this "feature" off.
The fact that all email notifications are on by default doesn't help either - I already got over 4000 mails from the forum, so no wonder some providers may start blocking it.

OK - able to like your post and reply. Whatever the problem is, not affecting me. But definitely something to be aware of.

Im not 100% sure of what this issue is that some members are having. No settings on the forum have been changed in an awful long time.

We do have very strict security in place to prevent spammers from registering with a duff email address and filling the forum full of nonsense, however this has been in place for at least the last couple of years.

In regards to emails, the setting is automatically set to on to allow you to receive notification of when you have messages etc. This can easily be changed and altered from your control panel on the forum.

Yeah, the register by mail is very prudent rule to keep spammers at bay. However I see no benefit from blocking long time members just because their mailbox overflowed.

The fact that settings can be changed is pure theory. How many non-hackers realize there even is a setting for that?
It's not a bad thing per se, it merely invites problems with mailbox - and that's a very bad thing only when you have a policy that slightest problem with mailbox is automatic suspension of forum account.

The funniest thing is that I resolved the problem by changing mail to an alias in other domain and another user did it by adding a dot in gmail. So it was the same mailbox after all.
The forum engine needed just a nudge to give it another try. So I guess the retry settings need to be dialed up a notch.
