honestly: we should not expect that the alliance destination will be available this week. I think GI plays the game "let's see if it will work next week" . History is repeating. We got a similar situation in the past and it took a while until GI (luckily) find a way that it is working again. :-(...

congratulations - but not clear why it took so long in your case. I got the event on Thursday, like on other plattforms - no delay. Update has been done twice while starting before.
