As in the past, I found if you return one of the new upgrade items it doesn't necessarily go through. Waverly huff sent a Parking Meter to Waverlyhuff2. Waverlyhuff2 returned that Parking Meter to Waverly huff ... but Waverly huff received an Arch Metal Detector in its place. Cheers, Tom

Yes, you can finish the main quest without completing the side quest. When you do complete the side quest, Alien Joe says "So long and thanks for the fish." I've had the same type of thing happen not with a quest item but with a regular item. Waverlyhuff2 (iPhone) sends an Air Vent Filter to Waverly huff (iPad). Waverly huff sends it back ... but it turns into a Grinding Machine. Tried it twice with the same result. Cheers, Tom
