I think you are probably confusing the return button that appears when you collect a gift from a neighbor. There is no way in game to ask for a specific gift except to change your name and add the gift in the name. You being on ios can not do that currently but soon an update is coming that will...

My gifting on windows has been vert laggy on windows, however, my android game has no problems. I have to wait 5-10 seconds after every gift on windows for it to register. If I send multiple gifts of the same type and use the check boxes to speed that up nothing gets sent forcing me to go...
