I'm afraid so. Do not press complete if you intend to collect stars to the quest destinations or complete quest building / collections. The only way you can complete it now is to buy with greens, or wait for next year.

You should build 2 at once, then the time it takes is the same.... :)

Good advice from Comet18. A lot of people need a second year to complete the Xmas quest (unless you spend greenies or money to buy stuff). So even doing the task for a week would give you a headstart for next year. Of course it also depends whether you can spare land for the sleigh runway...

Chloe, Consider buying Santa's Chest for 5 greenies to spare you the heartache (go to the shopping cart and select the toolbox at the right). It contains 20 Old Lanterns and 20 Star dust!!

Xmas tree was the reward for the very first Xmas quest (I think). It was the first building to drop adventure stuff, and the only 1x1 building to do so. It was never repeated.

Be patient and click as often as you can (once every hour). The first click of the day is usually drops something. And sometimes, up to 3 gifts can drop with a single click!

My apologies, I misread you post. I rely on my Xmas Gift Shops for the Continent gifts, and only click on other Winter buildings & elves for the rest of the stuff. But I do love this Xmas event, always the best quest of the year.

Marve, You need to BUY Xmas Gift Shop, not visit neighbours' gift shops. Visiting neighbours' Xmas gift shop will not give you any gifts, I believe. Xmas Gift Shops drop like 20-30% of the time and can be harvested once every hour, so you can get maybe 5 gifts per day if you play hourly. It's...
