I gather that other people are getting Bird's Nest to drop? At this point I have 13 Strong Character but 0 Bird's Nest

Well, complaining here did the trick! I've now gotten 3 of the Bird's Nest and so have 3 Carriage Houses built or under construction. I'm going to keep going until I get 6 total.

At 40 passengers abuild you definitely should. The collections will come fast as I now have 22 from those buildings...most of which came from 4 of them

You are extremely lucky. I somehow managed to get 6 of them in the first four or five days and since then I got just one more - not that it really matters any more, now I’m focused on the stars only.

Its crazy. I get no drops on the 4th ring from the flights.

All the others i have more than 5.
Is there a certain flight i need to take to get the 4th ring?

That's how the game works. Most collections have one extra rare item.
And there's individual "luck" for everyone. Not once I saw when my support game finished an event without even trying hard while the main account threw all efforts in frustration to get one or two "extra rare" items up to buying chests of event items to finish the damn thing.

Yes you can only get one reward, so just as well take it now and you can still continue flying for stars.
