I believe that it depends on your runway that you currently have...the bigger the runway the better the planes .

I've just reached level 71 and the planes that arrive at that level take on a pearlescent hue - quite unusual!

As I've said before and as far as I'm aware when you upgrade your runway you can then accept bigger/better (and YES much more colourful planes) into your airport plus the extra bonuses you get from them! Some skip certain runways I never have, it's certainly a individual game/choice and I play my own game unless it's anything alliance related
