iOS Mitchell required for mission?!

Yes, I have noticed, on the prometheus mission, you can get Mitchell as a droppable item (see attached)

Any space mission quest usually requires Mitchell to be collected some where in the quest.
If it comes as a droppable item, then the first mars launch may require Mitchell as a flight item.
