Do rental planes drop items?

I have just started the wedding quest and one of the flights needed is to Podgorica which needs a smaller aircraf than I have left. I could put one of my two turbos into store and buy one but I am wondering if using rental high speed plane gives the same chance of an item drop as if you own the plane. I realise I can get drops from Atlantic City but using rental planes would give me extra chances

Don't waste your cash on that. T-prop is worth only 2k, just sell them and buy smaller planes.
Also - the smaller plane, the smaller drop chance.
