Did you try completely shut down your device ? even if it doesn’t help, it doesn’t hurt either, you can give a try

Teresa, Thx for your reply - I have tried that as well with no success. GI now replied asking if I have changed my game progress!! A bit rich since it was GI that merged my data and messed up my progress.

This happen long time with me when i play using bluestacks and make me crazy that time and i just keep clicking then when launch i close the game and start again no miss of the items i click on it its return.
It was a glitch and Gi fix it and now its return back with you hoe they fix it for you and never back again.
