Airport City buildings in real life

Looking at all the pictures for these, I think the Firestone one (first one) is the best match. Good job! That one was driving me nuts!

That's Zeus based on the statue. (Poseidon has a Trident). If you look at the image from the Temple of Zeus at Cyrene, then you might include the end columns for a total of 6 x 10. I think this is a better match than the Temple of Zeus at Olympia, but it might be a merging of them.

Baroque? I would start with French buildings.

    Much better!!!

OK, so if the designers were a bit drunk (and I never assume they are completely sober... 😄), then maybe Grand Place in Brussels looks like the Tax Service?? Might be a starting place.

Hmmm. The clock tower and spires on the sides are very Euro-influenced. And the rest is very American throw-bricks-in-it. Could be NE US.

I fully agree. That was one of the reasons why I though "maybe". But if they can take the top of the Singer Building and put it on another building, then maybe not so concerned with the strength of vertical versus horizontal lines. Eh... maybe some of these close matches are true, or maybe...

There is almost nothing from Central America or South America yet. Even collections that come from those destinations yield Euro-centric buildings. But the benefit is that now I really want to visit Iguazu Falls! 😄

@TeresaLisboa Tranquil Abode looks like the Alcobaca Monastery in Portugal, but not quite... Any ideas for something similar? Maybe the designers were just being a bit lazy with the details though :) (@Chloe11111 too!)

I am thinking Spain for this one. It has Romanesque arches, but Gothic details. Plus something about it makes me think Moorish influences as well (but its definitely not the Alhambra). Problem is that there are tons of churches/convents/monasteries in Spain. I will keep looking... EDIT...

Airport City buildings in real life

This is the main problem I had. Most buildings in the French Quarter are quite ornate, especially regarding the ironworks. The AC building is quite plain, which is more likely found on Frenchman Street (less touristy; better jazz!) than the French Quarter, but those street lamps are only found...

Could be. It has the marquee, the same windows, and the area on the side where you could put a sign. (If you really squint, it sort of looks like the Lion King advert). All that is missing is the iconic vertical signs, but maybe they don't know they are iconic? I say "definite maybe" 👍

Airport City buildings in real life

OK, so this one is a bit of a big swing... Maybe @TeresaLisboa can help out here :) The Movie Palace looks like the Eden Theatre in Lisbon, Portugal. The main similarities are the glass parts in the corners and the concave windows in front. Absent is the concrete façade in front of the...

Ooooh, you probably have the wrong woman for pop culture ;)😄. But I will give it a shot.

I definitely agree with the library in Canada - the spire in front is identical. I feel like the College of Music looks like the style of a building in northeastern US -- very repressed and puritan. I can do some digging. I have been looking for the House of Wax and Forsaken Abbey, but...

    Windows Cannot update

As an aside, I also get that problem when running a VC contract. The solution that works for me is that I visit Madlen after I collect from every ~18 buildings. It slows me down a bit, but not as much as having to restart or losing pax because the game crashed 😒

Closest I have gotten is the Paramount Building in NYC. Fairly good match with the entrance and clock tower.
