So, you are saying that you didn't have 100 item limit before, but now you have the limit after you lost your game (I believe it got reset?) Then, you should contact Gi support. I know they are horrible, but if you prove that you didn't have limit before, and you started having the limit after...

You know when you collect an item up to 100 units and receive the message saying you reached your limit ;) Or if you started this game after May 24th, 2017 ( or sure about the exact date but it's around this time), you will have the limit.
