Nothing new, just recurrence of same issues prior to maintenance. I opened a ticket with GI, they asked for some logs, and I received this ticket update just moments ago:

But I beat him by posting my issue 20 minutes before he gave an answer ... so glad he gave us the additional scoop, 'cuz i thought the issues were all server-related, not code-related.

I have the latency issue again this morning. No issues and smooth game play last night after maintenance period was over and accepted the generous gifts from GI.
Well, I still have the same issue post-maintenance ... When I clicked to take a gift, the status didn't change to return a gift. It's been five minutes now with no status change. I attempt to visit a neighbor, and the game sits in a Please Wait status. :mad::mad::mad::mad:
Well, at least we found something to chat about while we aren't able to visit neighbors or send gifts.

I'm hopeful that the gifts that were in queue will be restored once maintenance is over. I'm sure I had gifts in queue before the maintenance started and the queue is showing empty now.
My daily mission is not impacted. For me, today's mission doesn't have any social functions (i.e. gifts sent, neighbors helped). If that was part of your daily mission, that may explain why.
I love how ambiguous they are in their messaging. I could just imagine one of my customer's reactions if I said they couldn't the full features of my service for a few days, but not tell them the anticipated maintenance start date/time and end date/time. I'm happy they at least told us what...
