This could easily be interpreted as paying customers who also happen to blatantly cheat will get away with it. I hope this interpretation is not correct.
Indeed all excess buildings you get from collections can be sold, like Chess Club, House of Disturbance, Event-buildings, etc. Not all buildings are as profitable, but since you can't build more than 6 of each anyway, might as well sell the excess.
I'm currently in an alliance with 8 members ranking 231 last week, but some of the members are not really contributing to weekly missions. I'm always trying to complete one mission, but with some members slacking off we barely ever reach 30%. Would love a more active alliance, I guess :)

Nice. Just in time for me to finish my daily mission ('help out neighbors'-task was the only task I couldn't finish today) *and* receive three nice bonuses :)
Now on to one of my weekly alliance-missions :P
Indeed, at least for business class I noticed they changed the desciption into "income from airline flights", I presumed it was as opposed to "helicopter flights" but didn't immediately recognize it wouldn't work on space-flights as well...
If it's the same as the Christmas-event (and it looks like that, with how the whole event is set up), then your event ends when you click the button to finish.
I must say this is one of the easier events. I haven't finished it yet, but with nine days to go I'm pretty sure I'll finish it without any bonusses or much effort. My strategy so far has been:
- Put up one building of each that can be bought.
- Fly one turboprop full-time and one propeller...
