OK, so it's time to play "who gets different search results than I do on Google" :D
For the Stone Castle:
- It is Scots Baronial architecture (classical, not "neo") due to the crow-stepped gables, conical turrets, and addition of conical bartizans (turrets extending from the upper part of a...
There are buildings like that in the Saint-Germain area near Notre Dame in Paris, but I have not been able to match details yet. Maybe you will have some luck in Italy?
I do not see any angle that really matches, except maybe the first one below. Any other angle is not a match. There is probably a better match out there somewhere. Keep it on the list.
Yes, I am getting several close ones too, and also tried Chernobyl (but total Stalinist architecture there). The old Palace of Justice in Vienna is the closest I have come. It was designed by Alexander Wielmans von Monteforte, along with his student Theodore Reuter. Router went on to design...
Yes, all the eggs have been found. You can tell if we have found a building because that information will be included at the bottom of that building's page on the wiki. Keep looking :)
Yes, Pidhirtsi Castle pops up on all my searches, but everything about it is wrong except for the rectangular shape. I had to stop searching for "abandoned buildings/mansions/palaces" because it came up so much (and was pissing me off ). The roofline of House of Wax is pretty unique, but...
Lacking:
- front stairs
- balcony on top floor
- spire on central tower
- little eyelet windows on tops of corner towers
Could be it was an inspiration, but as you just posted, they are generally so good with details. Definitely my top contender though. Keeping it in the wings.
Getting even closer to that darn House of Wax..... Palace of Justice in Vienna before it burned down. I have zeroed in on central Europe I think... Just posting this to see if it sparks anyone's brainwaves :)
An Dinh palace is also close, but no match. However, there is a really cool 3D reconstruction you can move around and rotate:

That roof peak doesn't match the House of Wax, unfortunately. I found a good roof on a train station in Spain. I have been thinking that "House of Wax" means it is deteriorating -- melting like wax (was inspired by an art exhibit of a wax house melting over time). I have been slowly going...
@Chloe11111 Boo-yah! You nailed it earlier (just the wrong castle)! Castle Rock = Chateau de Noisy (Chateau Miranda) in Belgium. (Apparently people do put turrets on a tower that obstruct the view)
Yes. The 4 turrets on the tower and the clock of the main castle are really the only things that match Castle Rock. I keep thinking that it is fictional/Disney-esque (or built by a billionaire who wanted a castle) because the whole building is architecturally a hot mess. Who the heck puts 4...
I thought of those for the Black Queen's Castle. However, the Chateau Miranda does not have the right roof for the tower (not elongated), and no match to outer buildings/gate. The Cochem Castle has the elongated roofline for the tower, plus the spires, but nothing else matches. I keep thinking...
