And make sure you have an internet connection. It's required to collect the event currency (drumsticks here) and may also be required for jackets to count.

No, this was something different. I too got the message in the settings area, and it took me to the game's Facebook page. There wasn't any special code or anything there. I've been playing AC for probably 3 years now.

It looks like it is going to be really, really difficult to get those MSBs. There isn't any event currency for guest planes and there aren't any items around your city to tap on. It's only given for sending event flights & tapping on the burial vault of your & friends' cities.
