And a likely explanation would be that your neighbors are playing one game on android and the other on iphone (or ipad, etc.) Apparently, android can gift apple players successfully (but not vice versa), and apple can visit android players (but not vice versa). I think this is perceived to be...

Wondering if you could get a laptop from a "resend" from any of Drew17's junior neighbors ((i.e., send office chair (TH7)to neighbors Level 33+ (a la @flip123)? Or you might be able to add such a neighbor from one of your other games? Sorry I can't help!

It's like adding a neighbor. Tap the "neighbors" icon on the bottom left toolbar (fifth icon from the left), tap the (same) "neighbors" icon from the pop-up menu, go to the "friend code" tab and enter it in to the "redeem" code box, and voila, extra stuff! (3 greenies + 2000 c.)
