Buildings are color coded. Passenger producing are a different color than coin producing, special buildings, etc. When you click on a building you can see what it is, just X it, if it's the wrong one. Not perfect, but usable. Works great when collecting items as they are all the same height.

The super sale could be offered anytime. In the past, it has been offered in July and December. There was an event when the planetarium was 1st introduced but it has never been repeated. That was where my 1st one was earned.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think you can buy S3. You can only earn them by flying the Alliance maps and completing those collections. Even if you can, same rule applies. They can only be repaired with greens. Save your tokens and buy a Mint.
