Launch Preperation 24 hour Timer

Today I ran across the funniest thing. I started a blue launch last night to which today the timer ran out before reaching 2000 points required to launch. Myself and one neighbor only had 1700 points into the launch when the 24 hour timer ran out, the rocket still launched. Maybe I have never noticed, but I thought the timer was how long you had left to get the required points to make a successful launch or it was a failed launch? Or is the timer basically a count down time to launch and the rocket is going launch regardless if you make enough points or not? If that is the case then basically if a person doesn't even care about placing in the top 3, they could just add 2 points and wait for the 24 hour time to expire.

Normally if you do not have all the points in you would get a failed launch warning showing the points, you have in.

It happened to me on a red launch recently.

It maybe that GI server misinterpreted the type of launch and thought it was
green one and let you launch.

It must have been something like that. I thought you had to get all the points.
