What’s the benefit of flying for passengers only? Apparently that’s the type of alliance I am in currently (unbeknownst to me). I’m over here frustrated that we have 2 of 9 members completing tasks yet all 9 contribute significant passenger count. So, if I don’t get a good bonus - what’s in it for me??

Depends on the planes because some planes take 6 to 12 hrs to complete flights
Right now for me it's 6 hrs 45 mins for jumbo, and condor 12 hrs 20 mins, and swift is 8 mins, that's why there is rule 2 says if possible, because of event flights, because many do events

But why be in an alliance just to fly passengers? The only benefit I understood was completing tasks and obtaining bonuses.

Obtaining bonuses help, but alot of people try to complete flights, but can't, so they fly all planes to get higher rank in alliance rating to get alliance chests

Other benefits are the special destinations that you can only get while being in a alliance, and working towards the Tower of London and Eiffel Tower. Of course, ranking and bonuses are nice, but you'll see a lot of people in alliances just for the special flights.
