I suggest checking your devices, PCs, Tablets, and possibly phones for a large update from Windows 1511 version to Windows 10 Anniversary Edition, or Windows 1607.
It might be wise to do this before we get hit with the new version of Airport City so as not to give cause to any conflicts.
As an IT Grad I figured best to do the updates in that order; Windows 1st and then AC.
There is some difference in the program, but my desktop, files, apps etc all seemed to remain the same.
If you can't obtain the update through your settings, try going to Microsoft support and manually downloading and installing the update.
I would have to say it took near to an hour to finish the entire download and installs.
The only thing I had to do was turn Windows Defender back on and download updates for it.
***** NOTE***** MAKE SURE TO SAVE LOCAL STATE FOLDER ON OTHER DRIVE BEFORE DOING THIS. ALTHOUGH I HAD NO ISSUES, APPARENTLY 1angel lost her game after upgrading*********************

@KenDuckySmith According to my system information I am running ver 10586 (pre anniversary update) I did run the aniversary update some weeks ago but when it completed Airport City would not open at all, so getting no response from GI i used the link windows gave to roll it back - seems to have rolled back quite a way!
I take it build is version - 10.0.10586 is what mine shows - oddly I have run updates since then

That version almost seems like it was last July's or a build between then and 11/15 when lol oddly enough they rolled out the 1511 version.

It was my error I confused build number with version number - I am running ver 1511 and my next update is the anniversary one. I am a little reluctant to apply it because I actively sought it out earlier but after the update Airport City and some other modern UI apps would not start on my main PC (it was OK on my tablet running windows home) So I rolled back to the previous day using my nightly system image back up. That was several weeks ago now so maybe I should attempt it again now that it has been rolled out to me

I found the problem I am concerned about on another forum - which reads as follows

Windows Store apps crash after installing the Anniversary Update

Error

  • Windows Store apps crash immediately
Description

Users on Reddit are reporting that after the installation of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update many Windows Store apps, such as Twitter, Netflix, and Reddit, crash immediately without any error message.

Status

Microsoft hasn't yet to confirm the issue.

Resolution

While many users have suggested using the wsreset.exe command nothing seems to fix the problem yet. For now, just be aware of this possible problem

This was exactly what I encountered before and the wrreset.exe did not resolve it. Airport City was affected - What is worrying is that MS do not appear to have acknowledged the issue yet, never mind finding a fix. I think I will leave the update alone for now as the advice "be aware of the issue" is not exactly helpful

I managed to find some suggestions on how to fix this on another site which according to comments seem to work. I have edited out adverts from the page to make it easier to read. I could not paste it here but if anyone would like to receive a copy please PM me and I will send it (only in PDF format as the forum does not allow word attachments). Put FIX in the title of your message please. I have not yet tried the fix as I have postponed updating for a while

Windows Anniversary Edition did have some set backs regarding apps, that mainly ran in the background. Some allow things like calendar, alarms, mail, and even the new facebook apps to run in the background, while in lock screen mode. So what happened was folks were locked out of the log in screen.
Since then Windows has emailed me and informed me of a patch that was sent out to correct the problem.
