If you go into rename, and just remove the 1 to make it savegame.bin again, it works fine, I know from experience when tried it in desperation (left memory key in when closing game and it got created as two savegame.bins were present!).

You are very lucky - my workers will be gifting and visiting starting in around 15 minutes, but as soon as the shift finishes they are off to bed! - I can't get the staff any more. Fair to say they will work very hard first thing in the morning though. :):)
