I had it twice - two mondays in a row. Make sure your clock does not get internet time --- and backup your game on a regular basis (instructions are posted in one of the forums) in case it crashes so you can restore from the backup.

They always send that garbage and it has caused people to quit playing. Write back to them and tell them you did not change your clock and it was caused by their buggy game. Their customer lack-of-service is atrocious. They only hire idiots I think. It takes them three days sometimes to fix...

I'm not participating in the event although the buildings look nice and I have been thinking about buying them --- which ones need items to construct? special items or items that are available when the quest ends? I don't want to buy any that I have to get items to build

I got the weekly alliance award and was able to check passengers for the alliance throughout that time (which was updating for all alliance members) so the game was at least partially connected - and I had no issue for the other online tasks I was doing. Anyway it is just fine now.
