Tom ... That happened to me when I first switched to iOS 9 a few weeks back. You probably remember as I was one the first people to experience this issue and got all frantic on the forum. Mine would always revert back to my home screen. I never got the G! Splash screen. @greensmith Ramy

You can't with your back ups go back in iOS versions. There is a way to revert to iOS 8.4 through iTunes though. You have to download this patch and follow a lengthy protocol. However, have you tried iCloud through the device? I always use iCloud backups. I had to erase content and restore more...

How did you send the ticket? through email?

It's an iPad 3. It keeps crashing before it gets to G! Page. It goes blank (black) then back to my background screen. Not sure. What's next. I have to get to support via email. Will they even respond if a support ticket was sent via email?
