The idea of a mail merge is to have a base template (the coding) with customised fields (flight data). It then creates the entire block of code for each individual wiki page.
I figured that it would be an efficient way to input the data into wiki with minimal human error and manual work, while...
It's 1am here so i'll go to bed and leave the excavation flights section to be done over the weekend.
Created a spreadsheet to summarise all the data inputs (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xMFIxBW4LfXCYvsHnhAw6FTO_HlyanPf/edit#gid=358755755). Will use these data to run Mail Merge in MS...
Shall we try this out for excavation destinations? I did a simple prototype and it works great. Unfortunately this thread doesn't allow me to upload Word and Excel files...
Hey @Dave and @VdW9 i thought of an idea. Since we're working with tons of destinations under the same class with same template, we can use "mail merge" function in Microsoft Word and a corresponding Excel sheet with raw data. This will generate the template source code of each individual...
Look in the weekly alliance task tab. If a destination can't be ordinarily found in the flight menu and takes 1000 flights to 3-star, it is an alliance destination :angelic:
how about: If my phone is in "Airplane Mode", I get a bonus of "Flying Phones". This will turn all the images of my planes into images of my phone
I wonder what does it mean to start a wiki on the forum - is it a separate section on the forum where viewers may navigate around the pages, links, and content?
Agree with creating a new one as otherwise, it will be challenging to keep track of which existing pages we have edited. All the messier if we want to reorganise the pages...
I like that the existing wiki organises the categories in some way. We can adopt that idea.
Hi, added you on my accounts. Will start sending on Tuesday as I have already gifted today. Please don't feel obliged to return any gifts. All the best with your 10,000 drumsticks!
Hi Craw, glad to hear from you on the forum again. You're right that this game is for long term players, in the sense that there'll always be something to aim for whether you're 3 weeks or 3 years into the game. Sadly many new players don't make it past the first few weeks, as they don't realise...
Suggest you could do some math to determine the most efficient coin and pax buildings. The general trend is that buildings of the same size with shorter intervals give more coins/pax per hour, but only if you can continuously collect them immediately once ready. How often do you open the game...
Hello Arnoud, welcome to the game and forum! Suggest that you could look through the section on alliances and reach out to those recruiting. And while you’re at it, enjoy exploring the wealth of guides and advice in the forum :)
Cheers!
My pleasure :) do also update your game name to show the item you want as gifts. Mine's exwhy - Evt AR meaning i would like to receive event items and additional radars from neighbours. You'll probably need landing lamps (LL) and fuel 20 (F20) early on.
Hi @Craw , welcome to the game and forum :) Looked through your post and city and thought i can offer a few tips:
-I leveled up to level 13 and now most “guest” planes can‘t land on my runways.
It's alright to reject guest planes. For a start, only build the runways that you need for your own...
Add the player as neighbour, and you'll see if he/she has an open launch when you prepare the pad of the same colour. Caution: do not click the button to start a new launch if you intend to join someone's.
