Now, I can’t visit neighbors from that account. I keep getting a white screen saying please wait and it doesn’t go away unless I close and reopen the app.

Interesting. We now are able to watch videos to land planes.... I like to watch videos to complete buildings and land flights early. I must say I love the new way the screen looks with smaller hovering icons for collection also.
