I was finally able to replicate this after clicking on a ton of Side Wings and Mansions. I will update the wiki event page to state that items from the Running Wild collection may drop very, very, very seldom from those buildings :)

I think it would probably be a great idea for everyone to NOT publicly admit to cheating. Not only does this earn you the ire of your fellow players, but it will also get your game banned by GI. Better yet... I think it would be a great idea to NOT cheat.
