Make sure you get the 12 new buildings (6 each) and put them in storage if you don't have room. They may be needed as your city grows. Most bigger cities with mostly passenger buildings have Brazilian Villas all year round.

You have to either 1. collect items from the cottages or villas to get the collection or 2. visit people who have stadiums.

If we get The Great Game event, it doesn't have any event flights. However, it does have flights that one otherwise wouldn't go too with the exception of getting stars.

It could, but events like "The Spring Has Come" didn't come with an update. However, Ivan mentioned it before the Age of Ash update, he didn't mention any other events with this update. However, that doesn't mean we won't get the soccer event during the current update.
