spend them or loose them, that's how it is. You don't have to wait until the last day to spend them, and spending them has no influence on your ranking or other event-possibilities (flying destinations, buildings, items outside your city) or whatever.

I think Asylum is the best 2x2-building to speed up with videos, with 126 pax (without bonuses), but that is an event-reward and cannot be bought for coins.
