Sorry I have own, made way back when they first started this.

No but it might put me off in buying more greenies. Just to be on the safe side be sure your buy confirmation is turned on, that way the game will alert you when your going to spend greenies. (At least in theory)

I don't quite understand what you mean by getting more gifts for a group effort. I've been playing SMBI for abut a year +/- and see nothing in game for "group" efforts.
